Thanks to all that commented & voted on this photo (except the 2, 3, & 4’s) :o\. This is definitely my most successful entry to date: most comments - 46 – all positive; highest score 6.494; most favourites – 4; & most colourful.

These leaves had just fallen off my neighbour’s tree. My daughter was the model. The shoot took place in my back yard. I wrapped her up in a big blanket and covered her with leaves.

Photoshop – increased saturation, cloned out a few small imperfections, burnt edges, reduced noise, & resized for the challenge.

I didn't comment on this during the challenge because, although it was so provoking, I wasn't sure if it "met" the challenge and I am not one to nitpick about that, so I just lay low and waited til after it was over. I love the almost out of this world sense that it has. The red leaves are so striking against her skin tones. It really is a beautiful picture. Whether or not it fits in the proverbial "box," is neither here nor there. It is a wonderful image, and certainly worthy of being seen by the masses. It showed vivid imagination and style. I see it on the cover of something. It would make a great billboard that takes up the entire side of a sky scraper. Heh, it's the first day of fall - how fitting!

Greetings from the Critique Club.

My first thought when I saw this image was "WOW" This is a very creative portrait, definitely miles away from the typical head and shoulders shots.

I love the color and the contrast between the light, rosy skin and the deep red leaves. The exposure is spot on and so is the focus. Closed eyes works well in this shot, it gives the feeling of peace and rest which contrasts in a weird but complimentary way with the deep red that predominates in the image. I don't know if that makes much sense to you but it does to me.

There is really nothing that I would change in this picture. Awesome job, keep it up!

If you have any questions or comments about this critique, please feel free to PM me.

What a cool idea! By far one of the top creative entries I've seen. Be proud of this shot and good luck in the challenge. I wonder how this would look with the eyes open too?

Doesn't capture enough of who the person is to rate super-high, but I like the effort and the focus is sharp. 7

One of the most interesting shots. This took a lot of work and is very artistic. I think you chose correctly with keeping her eyes shut, not sure. Beautiful colors and very interesting composition. For some reason I have a feeling it won't be well received but I like it.

This is an interesting shot, but I really want to learn something about the model, and that usually means seeing the eyes.

This is a very neat concept, the light is great, the colors are wow, but it doesnt quite meet my idea of portrait. I would have voted this higher in a Seasons challenge. Still over all, really good.
