Critique Club Comment:

Nice kid, and nice natural portrait.
You did well. You captured her well.
I lik ethe eyes, and the catchlights.
However (oh oh) there are some things that bug me a bit.
1st of all, the grain or noise. I find that a bit distracting. And the whole picture looks a bit over sharpened. The red is very red (could have desaturated that red a bit)
But still a very nice picture.
Congratulations on your 4th highest photo.

Very nicely done, You brought her in close enough to keep all the focus on her instead of the background which could have been distracting otherwise. I love the light in her eyes and the smile on her face. I think the lighting you chose fits perfectly and the hairstyle helps to add character. Good for you, 10.

Nice smile... this seems a bit grainy, which is a little distracting in a portrait.

Nice shot, the red is so strong it bring out an outgoing edge to the subject.

What a great portrait. Nice natural looking expression, great smile and you seem to have captured her personality well, an important thing for a portrait, I think anyways. One thing I might do differently is drop the reds just a little bit. The shirt seems to be grabbing to much of my attention away from her and drawing my eyes down. I also might use the healing tool to get rid of the that little hair on her nose. Overall, a very nice portrait.

Looks like you added some grain on purpose, because that looks really nice here!
Captivating eyes and an innocent smile. Good luck in the challenge!

Nice shot, I like the expression and the flat lighting and color works well for me here. Good luck

Cute kid but I think it would be better without all the "ornaments" as they tend to draw the eye away from the subject, which is the cute kid!

For me there is a bit of grain and wow - that red is red, but I like the composition and Ophelia has a great smile.

WOW - I hope the thumbnail pickers dont miss this one. it looked sorta average on the thumb but it is FAR from average. Besides having a terrific subject, you have done great stuff with her. Color, wow. I love your choice to stick with all reds, hair shirt lips bricks - it emphasizes her red hair. then your choice to use only one accent color, her jewelry mimicing the eyes makes the eyes into jewels. Nice. The crop is wonderful - just a bit too close on three sides and room on the fourth, it brings her right out of the frame. And the grain, of course, is delightful and matches the punky gritty look the kid is trying to display, keeps her from looking cute or sweet or any of those adjectives that kids hate.
