Such a great shot in so many ways; this is great; its art; it magical; It should be a print.

Greetings from the Critique Club!

What a beautiful shot! I love the clouds, the smoke stacks, it's very surreal.

The only thing I can see really wrong with this shot is the lack of a lot of contrast, at least high contrast. The contrast is there, just not very well defined to me. But the balance seems just a bit off, maybe a little tighter crop on the right to bring the stacks more in line. The capture of the puff of cloud on the left is fantastic!

Also, it just a bit too orange for my taste but that's me, maybe if it was touch more sepia brown?

Hope my comments help.

Fantastic. The idea and the space you've left up the top of the frame.

Cool photo. I think the dark orange coloring detracts from it though.

I really like the color and the puff of cloud that competes with the towers. Great editing and composition. I might have been tempted to crop out just a bit more of the sky on top IMHO...but in any case, well done!

Excellent light and scene, and very appropriate for the challenge. A winner for sure.

(PS: This immediately reminds me of Ursula Abrecht's images "Lovely industrial plant" and "Letting off steam".)

This looks a bit spooky! I like the color and the clouds.

This is very vivid and the contrast is there. With it being mostly clouds and not the expected color, it almost seems surreal to me. There is a slight sense of out of focus, but that's probably because of the cloudy subject matter.

Fit Challenge Criteria: 1/2
Color/contrast: 1/2
Composition: 2/2
Photo Quality: 1/2
My Subjective Affinity: 1/2

My idea of high contrast would be everything up to, but not including, silhouettes. In addition to that, there is a lot of noise int he sky that I would have used neat image or some other noise removal tool to reduce, and the color transition in the sky needs some work. I assume that is due to the JPEG conversion. As for the clouds/smokestacks/smoke, great job!

A little minimal, but I still like it in a more abstract way. 7
