Greetings from the Critique Club!! ;-)
First off, I want to say that this is a great capture!! The colors are such a pleasant suprise!
As for the technical aspects:

Lighting: Your comments may say it is "overexposed" or "blown". What they mean is there is too much harsh light (perhaps a flash)reflecting off of the plant. This results in the very light, almost white spots. Here is a link to the highlights and shadows tutorial, which I reference for help tutorial.

Placement: It is always good to have a off center subject, it is pleasing to the eye. I like the movement, how it leads your eye across the pink stalk to the yellow bug.

Background: The leaf and grey spot are a bit distracting. Perhaps a different angle would have helped.

Subject/fit topic: The subject is just beautiful, and fits the challenge perfectly.

Overall, you did a great job with a rare capture of one of nature's unusual color combinations. Great eye and keep it up!!

I would have gotten close if I could and macro'd the bug, but kepy a little bit of the branch. Lots of flash present.

Lighting on the subject is a bit harsh. I would have cropped it tighter.

I don't like the dark background, I want to see the colors of it; but its muted.

For me, I would have cropped more from the right hand side so that the main focus of your photo isn't so centered. The highlights from the flash are a bit bright, but good eye on catching that little guy on the branch.

This looks more like a blossm than a branch. I really like the shocking pink and the insect.

background is a bit distracting. maybe blurring would have been good for that?

This is amazing because earlier this week I took shots of the exact same kind of yellow bug on another poke berry bush. (They must really like them!) This shot, however needs a little work IMHO. The blown highlights (probably from flash) and drab background are real distractions. The composition could be shifted to one side a bit more too, to make it more interesting. Just my opinions, but I'll give you props for making my day (with essentially an identical shot of my own - not entered in challenge).
