This was WAAYYY underrated IMHO. I scored it a 9 (and would again in a heartbeat!). I think it is soo outrageously funky cool! Keep up the good work!

EDIT: Looking forward to seeing more of your work! Post some more pix! :-)

Red hot! Bumping to 7 on the cutie's facial expression.

cool retro/night club feel--I'd like to see more effective lighting though.

That's some red boots alright, sure would keep one warm in the winter. Great pose and certainly falls in this challenge nicely. Good Luck.

Interesting idea, but the background is distracting. I'd have both cropped some of it away and blackenend it out using curves or levels.

Seems more like a pic of Suzie Wong than her boots. Even as a portrait of Suzie rather than her boots the hair in her eyes is annoying, and there's a lot of empty space above her serving no discernible purpose. You could have made this fit the challenge by using less, like maybe just the boots and the tattoo. Less is more.

LOVE this shot! My only minor criticism is that her hair and arms look oversharpened against the black backdrop - also the background doesn't look uniform in color/texture. Still, GREAT pose, composition, crop, colors. Superior job.

Even though I don't care for these types of photos, it is well lit, executed and composed.

looks like background digitaly removed, and gaudy

Nice image... perhaps it's me but the background is not uniformly black... well done

this shot would have been better if it focused more on her boots and the pink cushion rather than the whole person

I don't really like the shoes because they are too bright and a little too risque.

I don't like the Suzie Wong's red boots or the outfit of the girl in the picture (who I assume is Suzie Wong). Ew.

i like the photo i really do. but the fact that she looks ten years old and is wearing those clothes is disturbing to me.

Now them's shoes!

I don´t really want to offend you but the first thing that came to my mind was that I don´t really care for the pose, was this really the best you could come up with? Her standing up, or stretching her legs towards the camera and you using a wide angle lens to emphasize the boots or just anything other than just sitting there... Anyway, I like the lighting (even though that glare on her left knee is pretty "off" but I am sure you would have cloned that out if this hadn´t been a basic editing rules challenge) and composition and backround, definately above average in the challenge. 6 from me.

little miss muffet...should have cropped it a little differently, in my opinion

very striking outfit. somehow she seems to pull it off. beware artifacts of resizing... notice the pixellation of her hair and her arms, easy to avoid and very distracting when it happens.

those are some gnarly boots. lighting on the subject looks aright, though somethin more dramatic couldnt have hurt. the background is a weird distracting texture, i want it to be all black. 6
