ya ur pic aptly require a perfect 10!
but alas im late!i know that the challenge is over now, but still u need to be gice some gutso pleasanteries!
nice work!
keep it up!
Love it. What settings did u use to achieve such a DOF in entire shot? I love macros but I am never able to get anything closer to this. Kindly guide me a little whenever u have time. Thanks.
Gordon, thanks for the comment... I added the water to this.. it was done inside on my livingroom floor... I placed the leaf (back side up) on a drinking glass about 6" above the floor on top of a black shirt... I provided the light with a 500w halogen lamp and left a dark shadow underneat the leaf so I could easily make the background completely black. The color version of this photo has had the levels adjusted back to as close to the original color as possible...
Just had a look at the colour version - I think the B&W is better - the textures are excellent on this. Did you add the water yourself or was it shot 'as is?"
Congradulation! I love this photo very much. Those water drops are very much like some kind of magnifier! It is surely a perfect photo for large printout!
I'm guessing this one will win. I love the structures emphasized by the b&w, I love the lighting, and I love the crispness. I would really like to see it in color, but I'm guessing I like it better in b&w (which is really saying something, considering I don't generally like b&w at all).
Wonderful! The leaf structure comes up beautifully, and the drops of water magnify parts of it just to drive the point home of its fractal complexity, and then tease you with their spherical simplicity. Nature is... well... read Wordsworth to see how I feel about this photo :) 10!
this is easily one of my 5 top shots. the lighting, the detail, and the refraction of the water droplets, elevate this pic head and shoulders above the majority. the tip of the leaf where it curls is slightly oof, but that doesnt detract too much for me. a 9.
Sure glad I didn't submit my water drops this week. This is just about perfect - the detail, tonal range, clarity and composition are all first rate. Top 3, IMO.
WOW. I'd give my 'I' teeth to beable to take a macro like this. fantastic. The only thing I would change would be to get the whole leaf in the shot. more! more! :) great job. A winner.
Normally, leaves and water don't inspire me, but this picture is awesom. Great capture of the texture of the leaves, and the water droplets give it depth. Very nice!
I really like the photo a LOT. If I had to find anything wrong, I'd point out the couple of water drops that are kind of "flat," but it's so minor, it's part of the easter egg hunt.
Great shot. Superb detail. Only detraction being that this was submitted for a B&W challenge, probably was better in color. Only reason it is not a 10 in my book.
