This took many takes before I finally got it right but when I cropped the apple in half, that was it. I did some minimal repair to the skin and did a slight lightening and saturation of the red of the apple and used a softening filter. If Adam only knew......

Gave it a 5 during voting but can't remember why. Looking at it now, I would agree twith the comments about the background - need trees or foliage. ;-) Also would like to see the apple not cropped but then I suppose voters would think the nipple is a shoehorn for the apple. ;-)

WOW, I've never stumbled upon this one before. What a concept. This totally works with the title.

This is a real nice idea and I really like the ongoing conversation here.
But I think the background is not the right one for this shot.
I can't put my finger exactly on what it is, but something here is... dunno... too kitchen fluorescent light. A real art that was taken at the wrong place.
I would love to see this one with a bit warmer lighting and background.
If you ever get a chance...

But still this one a great entry in the challenge, and highly underrated.

I really like the concept you put here! The apple of course invokes thought about the apple from the tree of knowledge as well as the female breast invokes the idea of Eve. The apple also makes me think of the absent Adam - as that we have heard the phrase "Adam's apple". While the concept is brilliantly done I think that there is room for improvement on the overall photo. I think if you had a starker contrast background - say a bright white instead of the blueish white tone - that the objects would really reach out and grab the viewer by the lapels and say "Notice me!". The other thing that might also help is that the apple be turned on it's side such that the "tip" seems to be going "head to head" against the tip of the woman's breast. The apple laying on it's side would be a different view but also it would visually show us and make us think automatically about "The Fall of Adam and Eve".

Sorry I didn't have time to comment during the challenge. This was an excellent idea and I just loved it. I think the softening filter may be what hurt you. Perhaps if the contrast, etc had been upped a bit, but the way it is, it looks like the softness was a mistake or from compression.

Thanks to those of you who got it. I made it very minimalist on purpose, but onto bigger and better things now. This has been the longest week of my life!!!

Nice, but I would put lips or ears facing the apple for the name you used.

Unique take on the challenge.

This image seems a touch too minimalistic. A more effective shot for your title might have been to see the apple with a bite taken out of it being clutched to her chest.

Nice concept, but positioning the apple closer to the camera would allow it to fill the frame and might make for a stronger composition.

Nice model and concept.

May I make a suggestion though? I'm thinking had you been reaching for an apple, and showed more of your body you may have done better with this concept. I would have liked to have seen this model outdoors reaching into the tree (could be any tree that resembles an apple tree) with the camera by your side, showing an arm/side and breast.

The editing is nicely done though. I love the soft effect.

I Love composition and the crative idea. One of the most creatives pictures in the challenge. Good use of colors and shapes. Congrats!!.

Try a little less compression on your next submission. The nipple almost has a halo, you wouldn't get that so easily if you set the quality as high as possible before saving your work - you have a 150KB max, this uses just over 20KB.

photo looks very snapshot, iso levels might be to high.

I really like the crop of this shot and the fact that the apple appears to be suspended. Color is good and the skin tones are perfect. I also like the minimal content - works quite well. Nice job! Well done!
Update: Going through the pics again I see that there is no room for bumping up. You are already there with a 10. Something about this composition just evokes a very serene mood. Excellent!

I like these out of the box pictures. This picture seems to be to balanced ( I think that's the first time I've ever had to say that). Both objects carry the same visual weight. The viewer's eyes bounce back and forth between the two. What would help is for the photographer to decide which object is to be the subject and then use the other object to reinforce that idea. To me, this is a nice idea that was poorly executed.

I like the idea of this shot. The light seems flat. Focus is not quite there. Some colored haloing around the apple & the nipple.

the apple is not as sharp as it could be...and possibly a bit more light on the apple would have given your pic a bit more punch!!

I think this would do better if the background wasn't so uneven, and the apple was a little brighter & sharper.

I'm not a big fan of the adam and eve references in nude photography, however this is an interesting shot. I think the focus is a bit soft, and the background doesn't quite match up, perhaps something with more of a green tone to it. (I'm thinking garden). Good luck.

Good idea. Would have been better for me if apple was more vivid.

To flat, the image that is. No depth in it.

This photo just does not do anything for me. I see what you are trying to do, but I don't see what you were focusing on. If this is a self portrait I admire your courage to take it. Good luck..

I like the idea. The variations in the background are somewhat distracting to me.

if the apple had been on an equal level with the breast i think this would have worked a little better. Right now the image looks slightly unbalanced.

An interesting take on the challenge. I don't think the blue background serves the image well and I would have preferred a more neutral color. I think, for more contrast, the soft focus should not have been used on the apple - it would give a much more sensual appearance to the breast. I like the echo of the red tones and think maybe playing up on that would enhance the image.

very creative and unique. focus and skin tone are perfect on the breast but i just wish the apple had been in focus too...seems a bit soft to me. still an excellent photo and a brave entry!

Apple, meet nipple. Nipple, meet apple. I like the color and textures. The crop and composition are a bit weird to me. Hope that's helpful.

Perhaps an outdoor environment with apple trees (in an orchard) would have worked better, this shot with the floating apple just seems too snapshottish.
