switch the date off! Interesting subject, but needs better contrast/ lighting to make it really stand out
06/09/2002 08:43:00 PM
good idea; please don't include date stamp, we'll trust you.
06/09/2002 07:00:00 PM
nice but the date in the corner kinda ruins it
06/09/2002 02:31:00 PM
when did u take this picture? LOL
06/08/2002 02:32:00 PM
The date in the corner sucks!
06/08/2002 01:18:00 AM
Date is very distracting.
06/07/2002 05:52:00 PM
I'm not sure if having the date in the photo was accidental or just the style you wanted to use. It really isn't necessary. This photo can stand by itself I feel, but the date hinders it.
06/07/2002 02:18:00 AM
this is a nice picture. as a curious aside, is it possible to make it so the date doesn't appear on your shots? i'm not taking that into consideration myself, but it is a little distracting. :)
06/06/2002 11:42:00 PM
this is stunning. that pot is really photogenic and the composition is nice. i think thepot is a hair dark, but overall nice image. could see it on a wall.
06/06/2002 07:03:00 PM
oops, time stamp
06/06/2002 05:59:00 PM
This is actually a very good picture, I think. The balance and composition is very effective, though it may be a little flat. If you had a way to make the subtle shadow a little stronger, it may give it some depth. Not sure. Next time turn the date off, or make the picture big enough so that it can be cropped out. :-)

Lose the date!
06/06/2002 01:44:00 AM
This would be an excellent photo without that date there, but since you're not allowed to remove it at least through editing for the contest I'll ignore it. Beautiful pottery, nicely framed, with nice soft lighting to bring out the texture of the clay. Perhaps a little too dark (on my monitor).
06/06/2002 01:24:00 AM
Can you cancel that date stamp? It detracts from the photograph.
06/05/2002 11:35:00 AM
The jug gets lost in its own shadow at the bottom. Nicely framed, though.
06/04/2002 09:57:00 PM
remove the date it take away from the pic and aliitle dark would have like more light
06/04/2002 06:54:00 PM
This is gorgeous....except for the date at the bottom! Yikes! Please reshoot this if you can, or get rid of the date somehow, and this would sell!
06/04/2002 05:00:00 PM
good shot, too bad about the annoying time stamp.
06/04/2002 03:16:00 PM
This would have been a contender, except for two things: first the date stamp -- it's great for memory photos where you want the date on the picture, but not so good for artwork. I'd turn it off if possible. Second, I think that wall needs to be a lot brighter -- adjusting the levels to fix that would also lighten the jug a little. To test what I'm saying, I saved the photo and used PS's auto levels and it looks great.
06/04/2002 01:10:00 PM
A wonderful photo. A *little* more light and the removal of the date ON the photo would make it perfect:)
06/04/2002 12:34:00 PM
I love the ttexture in this photograph. This was the perfect subject for black and white.
06/04/2002 10:48:00 AM
uh, the date on the photo does not sit well with me. I would have definitely cropped that out!
06/04/2002 05:49:00 AM
Of course, the date stamp has to go. A very good subject for B/W - lots of texture and curves to catch light. Avaliable light was a good choice, too. Sadly, the tonal range is limited to black - middle gray, so most of the detail and play of light doesn't show.
06/04/2002 02:59:00 AM
I think I'd have tried to brighten the background wall a little, or else maybe darken it to look more like a closet or back shelf...
06/03/2002 11:50:00 PM
do yourself a favor and turn the date "feature" off in your future pictures. this would have been a really nice photo without it.
06/03/2002 08:46:00 PM
Get rid of your date stamp! Perhaps if this was a touch brighter - great photo otherwise. good job.
06/03/2002 06:24:00 PM
Boy, this is a really cool shot that is spoiled by that date stamp. I'll bet your camera has a way to get rid of that.
06/03/2002 05:19:00 PM
Very nice, if possible you should turn off the date function of your camera. Other than that its a great picture.
06/03/2002 04:29:00 PM
Ruined by the red text. Not B&W.
06/03/2002 03:58:00 PM
Interesting shot. Well done. Yeah, the date could go.
06/03/2002 01:18:00 PM
Cool shot, but your date stamp doesn't help the image out any.
06/03/2002 01:12:00 PM
I'm sure you'll get this comment a lot (again), but the date print is REALLY distracting. Most camera's have the option to turn it off, if yours does, I would turn it off for the dpchallenge shots. You can prove the date (if need be) through the information your camera stores about the date. Now, moving beyond that, this is a nice picture, good composition. Have you tried adjusting the levels just a little more so that the wall would look more white? Maybe just lighten the whole shot.
06/03/2002 11:32:00 AM
Turn off the date stamp! It could use a little contrast adjustment to help this great composition "pop" out a little more.
06/03/2002 06:50:00 AM
This is a fairly nice photograph.. I would, however, turn the date function off on your camera :)
06/03/2002 05:50:00 AM
Good forms and composition, needs more contrasts, though
06/03/2002 01:27:00 AM
Nice sharp image. Personaly I like to see more tonal range in still life where you have more time to control lighting etc.
06/03/2002 12:42:00 AM
love the photo, but you should turn your date stamp off on your camera
