Greetings from the Critique Club
Hi JL!
Composition
Actually the composition is where I think this shot is both weakest AND strongest. I LOVE the leading line. Absolutely adore it. I hate that the people are faced the other way though, riding away from us and out of the top of the photo. The framing at the top is exceptional and well done.
Color
I love shots that are just "oh wow you found this naturally." And you did - it's like the 26 Things scavenger hunt that's coming up - this is a good shot for that!
Lighting
The shadows are a bit long and the tracks are a bit bright - overall, not a bad exposure for this shot, however.
Subject matter
Finding complementary colors in nature is hard - you found it, almost missed it, and caught it leaving. Nice capture and interesting subject. Better than flowers, for sure. ;)
Overall
Nice shot, too bad everyone didn't see the good in it. Happy shooting!

I really like this, there is a really nice balance to it and the only colours seemingly purple and yellow. Well done! 8 |

I think the focus should have been closer-in to the bike, perhaps cropped there or zoomed in as appropriate. But it's good it's an obvious splash of colour against a fairly neutral background, which helps draw the eye. |

I like the perspective of this, and the way the ornament at the top forms a frame. I think if the little car thing was a bit more dominant, it would be more effective. |

good framing - I like the lines and textures in this. The yellow/ purple is there but it's a shame its in the shadows. |

The back of the cart is pretty dark. Maybe if it had been traveling in the other direction, sun to the back of it. |

i really like this photo, but as a complementary colors shot, it's weak... your complementary colors are hidden in the shadows... I like the way the metalwork frames the top of the photo... excellent work :) - 5 |

That's cool how the metal design frames the photo. |

The composition gives this shot a distant feel. Which may have been what you were going for, I don't know. :-> But the way it's so precisely square, and framed by the bracket, with the subject tiny, gives it a sort of frosty formality. |
