stood on the top my my friends van

snaped the shot of my well instructed sister walking below.

used a slave to get some more of the water tones on the brick.

in PS-
-converted to B&W by way of channel mixer
-masked the unbrella's top and adjusted tones with curves
-same to person
-brightness&contrast applied to street (everything but person and umbrella)
-dogged in around shadow
-burned in shadow and slecet parts of raod
-cloned out tree bottoms near upper left hand conor of image
-resized
-boardered
end of work in PS-

i hope this is an ok image and title for the challenge to be honest i really don't see anyother way to capture rain other than to view the world as it would.........

but i'm blind to alot so i look foward to seeing others inturps. of the subject.

thanks for all the comments views and votes

Very nice contrast and good choice of PP in B/W - works well. Love the angle...really adds to the drama.

I wish the person had been in focus instead of the street. I do like the b&w tho and the lines leading out of the frame.

Very nice! Almost reminds me of of the musical Singin in the rain. Hope this ribbons.

Good perspective, something new. A nice composition overall, good B&W choice. The reflections off the stones are a really nice touch. 10

Excellent shot. Very contrasty but I like it. Would love to see it larger though, I bet this one suffers when compressed for DPC.

Interesting perspective and angle. It seems to be a tad OOF though - making it slightly less appealing. Still, good idea.

interesting angle here, and i like the hight contrast. the image as a whole seems kinda out of focus to me (but just a veeeery little bit) tho.

Artistic but understandable; I like that in a photograph.

The bw gives it a certain mysterious mood, and the lone pedestrian gives the eye something simple to focus on. Great work.

Photograph is brilliant ... title sucks a bit (it seems confusing and doesn't suit this gritty image). The composition is terrific; I think you've used the tilted horizon very cleverly to wring a highly dramatic effect out of the road kerbs. And the wet paving looks fabulous in contrast to the virtually silhouetted figure and his reflection/shadow. Very classy work. 9

Super image, but I am not sure about the upper curb being basically parallel to the top edge.

Love the angle and the urban feel. The reflection on the pavers is great. The shape of the umbrella is a perfect compliment to the rectangles of the pavement. Great silhouette.
