I think the frozen river is a nice subject, but the dark background doesnt work at all in black/white. try a different angle.

Call me crazy, but where are you shooting snow this time of year?
06/09/2002 04:54:00 PM
This is very black and white -- too much so to my eyes. There isn't anything here for me to really focus on -- so it feels very busy. I'd suggest getting down really close to one of those rocks and using it to fill part of the frame, maybe from a different direction so that all the trees in the background aren't hidden in shadows and their own silhouettes.

not sharp

it took me a minute to figure out that was snow

I don't think the lighting is effective in this image....too bright

My thought is to dark at the top?

How "lucky" to still have snow at the end o May...

Needs a positive gamma adjustment to make the snow at LLHC whiter and bring out some detail in the bg shadows. A tighter composition on the play of light on the snow and a few stones might have been more effective than the wider, scenic view.

It was 94 degrees here in north carolina today... where in the heck did you find ice? lol... good shot...

I'd like to see this blown up, I bet it's better to look at larger - I find myself searching to find 'something' in the woods back there. to bad about the foot prints, unless of course you wanted them there...imo I like woodsy pic's to seem like a new discovery :) nice job. (glad we are finished with snow for a while...blah) ;P

A very interesting nature shot, but it lacks something to pull it together.

Awesome... maybe a little sharper if possible. Unless this is the effect you wanted, then keep it this way. :-)

Wow this is pretty. Nice job.

OMG, you still have snow - poor you! Personally, I would like the shot better if it was a little sharper, and there was a clear focus that draws my eye in. Even though I like the composition.

good shot, but a little out of focus

File quality problems I take it. File is only 50kb, you have up to 150kb, use it for better quality. You also need some focus in the picture, feels like everything is slightly off.
