Hi, thank you!

@skiprow - simple panning: I set the camera to Shutter Priority, set the shutter speed to 1/30 sec, manually focused on the girl/swing. Then I got the girl swinging, started following the movement with my camera trying to keep her hed in my view all the time. Then depress the shutter while panning (moving the camera at the same speed as the swing).

Very little post-processing: cropped a bit, worked on histogram/curves to get the colours a bit more vibrant, resized, sharpened, applied a light noise remover (very light) overall to smoothen the whole thing.

Hope that helps!

This really appeals to me. This had to be difficult to do well.

Love this. It's so utterly about the theme to me - it resonates with how I like to see myself and my outlook on life. The motion blur and colours are great as is the light on her face and arms and the composition. 9

cool pan technique. like the colors. her expression and her closed shoulders make her seem like she is holding on for dear life. if possible having her head back and smiling would have added to the feeling of independence for me

Nice shot! I like that she's barefoot! The composition is great and the blury background adds a nice effect although it might be a bit over bluried? Conveys well the idea of independence, especially the barefeet part :)
I often am curious how some photos look in black and white? It helps take the focus away from the colors of the subject's clothes, the background...and puts it on the action or the composition...
In any case, well done

I've tried panning shot once and found it too hard.. but some photogs on dpc do it really well. Nice attempt, would look better if the motion blur was completely in the background and not in the subject. I'll score this a 7

Love the movement in this photo. A bit of a stretch for my interpretation of the challenge but a great image nonetheless. :-) 8

Nice Idea and good execution. The model looks a bit terrified, though.

Great sense of enjoyment from this pic. Well captured, good colours. hope the movement blur doesn't cause too many lower votes - 8

Great capture of a moment... even during great motion. Just wish she looked a little happier :)

This is so neat! I love how you followed the girl so that she would remain in focus while the bkg is not. This is a great idea, one of my favs in this challenge! I bet this does really well.

i like the motion blur, it does capture the mood well. my suggestion would be for your model to have her head back a little more with her feet kicked out more so it has more of a free-flying mood. the feeling i get from it right now is hanging on for dear life.

I like this a lot! Except for her expression, this is something for Mom or Dad's office wall or desk. Hard to relate this to the challenge, but interpreting very broad for this one. Good luck!

Just my opinion but.....you got part of her leg in perfect freese. Wouldn't it have been nice if her face had been the stopped motion part? I like it....9

TOO BLURY

Effective use of motion blur. Well composed. Colors could be a bit more vibrant, but overall this is a great shot.

I love the motion blur. The background has enough color in it to make it interesting without distracting from the girl in the swing. I like the contrast of her shirt and the seat amidst the green tones of the background. I like this alot. 9
