 What a thrill it is to have your score start and remain at 7.0 or greater all week. This was not a posed picture but what you see is the hand of a very cute Downs Syndrome girl. I had been talking to her, pointing out a baby giraffe that I was trying to get a good shot of. Her mom asked her if she wanted to feed a big giraffe and the rest is history. Thanks everybody for the votes.

Well, 5th place is an incredible accomplishment in a challenge this tough!! I was so hoping this one would ribbon, but how can you complain with 5th place out of 198, in a challenge with so many high scores.

This is still one of my favorite pictures EVER!

Beautifully composed artistic shot. The dof and background colour really bring out the composition and add to the effect. Perfect timing. I'm picking this shot as a Ribbon-winner. Good luck!

My favorite! You are kidding about the validation right?! The giraffe is a touch soft but the entire dynamic for the image won't allow me to dwell on it anyway. Excellently cropped. Tonally excellent also. 10 - well deserved!

The first time I saw a giraffes tongue I was amazed. This is nicely balanced with the childs hand and the green leaves.

Awesome shot! How cool!! I knew giraffes had long tongues, but that's WAAAY out there - lol. Nice DOF and lighting too (although not crazy about the background). Great job.
