It's my arm. Taken against a black background with a red light off to one side and a small halogen light in front (no flash). Wanted to show a fist for Independence and while playing with the processing of several shots I took, I decided I liked the results. I'm sure it'll get hammered by voters, but I'm happy with it. So there! LOL

This is a little difficult to critique. There are too many ways in which you can view this photo. The colors are very dramatic as is the statement. It conveys an array of emotions depending on the viewers state of mind. It could be anger or happiness, victory or defeat. It could mean acceptance or defiance. My immediate impression was victory due to my state of mind. As I viewed it later other emotions and impressions came to mind. I like it beacause of the diverse meanings. On a technical note it may have been over saturated and a bit too much contrast. Composition is great. Lighting was very creative. I would like to see the original to compare what has been done. The focus could have been better but I think all of these issues can be cast aside if you are viewing from another perspective. It meets and falls short of so many different planes. Over all I really enjoy the picture and would love to see more like it. Very fine job. Keep up the good work.

This is too over done for me. I like the idea of strength. I would have rated a strong arm in more natural light higher.

Feels too over processed for my liking. I guess this is going to fall into the love it / hate it category

Too much PS for my taste.
If I look at it from a Pop Art angle it's cool.

I'm not really keen on the post-processing effect.

Right On!! I find the wedding ring a distraction. Fun use of contrast. Is this basic editing? Good job if so.

Pretty cool idea for this challenge. Very different. I'll vote it up just for your courage to submit something out of the ordinary and outside the box. I hope it does well, it would be nice to see some "outside the box" thinkers get some great scores for it :) Good luck!

I actually like the colors on this but not so much the grainy-ness
