 I had such a hard time selecting which picture to submit for this challenge. I had an elephant selected, but when I went back to try to get a Textures shot, I got several good pictures of this mommy and her baby, and the more I looked at it, the more I fell in love,and went with this one. These monkeys are endangered species, so the new babies get the royal treatment at the San Antonio Zoo. It's called a Francois' Langur, and I hope you like her as much as I do! They were both VERY squirmy, so it's a miracle that any of them turned out sharp enough to submit.

this is nice but there appears to be blurring of the nose and mouth..but perhaps you wanted to focus on the eyes.

THe detail and composition of this are very fine...it is hard, well for me anyways, to expose properly enought to get that much detail in a dark color. Well shot. I do however wish that the background were less bright, but it is not overly so in this. Great shot! Love the expression on the face you caught.

Well done. I like your subject, tones, and DOF. I think your composition would be stonger if we could see the monkeys left hand. Not sure if this was possible. Good luck in the challenge.

I love it. Who couldn't use a hug!! Monkey's are one of my favorite zoo animals, this picture caught my eye right away. What a cute sweet face. Way to go!

This is a spectacular image - beautifully composed! One thing that distracted me (and it may be that I'm imagining it) is that the face looks very processed. It's so soft (almost airbrushed) compared to the wonderful DOF everywhere else. Maybe it's the breed of monkey, but I don't think so. Still, a fantastic shot. 8

Best monkey shot of the lot. The eyes are so clear and the detailing of his face is superb. Great coloration. This is a definite 10!!
