This is a great photo. Inspires me to try and get so real close ups.

I gave this a 9 when I voted for it. What a fun shot. The only add I might say is that it's too bad that the antennae was cut off. That would have really sealed the deal :)

very cute hopper - I love the way his littel head is cocked at an angle. The skin at the bottom is distracting though - might have corrected this by cropping tighter. Focus is a little soft too.

What is that thing sitting on? Looks like skin to me! Nice macro, the green seems a little too bright losing a little detail

Great capture. The background is a bit noisy, however.

Is that your arm he's on? Great close up, I didn't realize how cool a grasshoper looked. good luck

The bug has an awesome expression on its face! Did it sign the model release? ;)

Congrats on giving a bug macro an expressive quality. Great shot.

Great shot of the face! What an expression. I also like the hair in the foreground, it really anchors the insect and you can imagine it moving about. Nice depth of field and the blue background complements well the green color although it does seem a tad artificial. very well done!

I really like the point of view...he looks likes he's looking right at me. Plus, the lighting and clarity are very nice. One of my top picks. 10

Awesome macro shot although I'm honestly starting to wish this was a "no bugs or flowers' macro challenge. don't worry you pic is one of the best bugs in the bunch 9

9 - Wow. Very good. Like the 'grass'. That front leg in focus and, well, very near perfect. The blue and green looks good. Great angle. I also hazard, only natural light?

Is this a pet grass hopper walking on your arm and he is looking right in the camera--fabulous!

Well.. . HELLO! What a perfect composition. No grasshopper's butt here. A dead-on portrait! Incredible detail and focus. Great job.

I love his expression. It seems a tad overexposed to me. The light on his back and legs is good and you cropped it well.

Please tell me he is on skin! I don't want to hear you have a hairy sidewalk! Excellent detail for such a close image. DOF excellent, POV great. Composition good. Outside the challenge, it might be good to include a little more of the arm/leg/belly whatever to give a better sense of place so people aren't left wondering... 7 Good luck in the challenge!
