Greetings from the Critique Club ;-)

The idea has lots of potential. The flowers are surprising when placed in the context of the Zen box garden, and that's something that will instantly grab a viewer's focus and attention.
The lighting is a bit of an issue here. It feels flat, and the tones don't flatter the colors of the flower, even when they're set against the white and black of the sand and the box. Bumping contrast might help this image a bit. The shine on the black rocks, as well as the deep shadow cast by the box's edge on the left side of the frame reduce the potential impact of the shot, I think.
The crop and/or perspective is also another potential improvement point. A different angling on the shot might improve the view, and a closer crop might add to the dramatic factor.
Lastly, focus...I feel that both the grains and flowers are missed a little bit, and there's an overall flatness, instead of sharpness, to the image. Sharpening with USM might have helped here.

Finally, I noticed you used a low iso and a fairly slow shutter. Perhaps bumping up the speed a bit would help control the focus.

Hope this has been constructive, and thanks for the submission.

little soft on the flowers themselves and the harsh shadow on the right hurts the image but a nice original idea. Good luck

I love the subject and lighting - IMHO I just feel that the composition could be better! Nevertheless, a lovely image :)

I really like this idea but think it would have been stronger if it had been a different perspective.

Nice composition with the red white and black. But, the blur in the up right is a little distracting

This is very nice ... it feels a little soft on my monitor but not such as to mark it down any -- 8

The composition of this one is a bit distracting...the setup of the shot. The focus seems meant to be on the flowers and sand, yet there is so much around it that is not well lit and unclear which distracts from it. I think a different angle or approach would have made this shot better.

elegant, but the sandbox itself is fuzzy. if i knew what the sandbox actually was, i might be able to make sense of the plastic accessory/contraption leaning on the back of it.

Great idea! Things I'd change - focus a little soft & a little too dark. 7

I would have tried the shot closer in. It seems there is too much surrounding the subject, and the flowers don't really do anything for the photo as it stands with the current compostition.

I think this was a good subject but would have been more interesting cropped in tighter to focus on the and patterns and the flower.

Nice play on a Zen rock garden! The lighting's a bit stark and I think it would have been better to have the lower right edge of the second rose as the focal point rather than the base of the flowers.
