WOW..... so amazing... one of 'those' shots.... massive congrats to you....
05/31/2005 08:12:05 PM
The off kilter angle of the horizon is a big distraction for me.

Congratulations!

Great capture. I love these "once in a million" shots far better than any tired, old, boring studio setup shot any day.
You win the blue ribbon in my world :)

Now, here is an image using a partner in crime. I say the photographer personally knows this bird. lol I am simply floored. Bumping a second time into a winning vote.
05/24/2005 07:10:04 PM
Best animal shot in the challenge and a strong contender to ribbon, this is a case of the subject dictating the rotation instead of the mainstream thinking, "The horizon MUST be level." This works because it makes sense. If people were honest, they would realize horizons are NOT always level because people change perspective all the time in their daily living. This is one my top ten shots for this challenge. Congratulations.

Great capture with astonishing clarity on the apple! Nice composition, lovely golden light. The only negative, which I'm sure I won't be alone in commenting on, is the tilted horizon. 8

Great capture!! Although the sky appears a little overcast in the background, the lighting is perfect on the bird. Good cropping...fits perfect in the picture. One of my favorites in this challenge. Good job!! 10

05/23/2005 04:06:13 PM
This is my favorite in the contest. Very nice. I assume some people will complain about the sloping horizon which can be easily corrected.

So beautiful! How onearth did you get this so clear? The framing is excellent and `I love the clouds behind although perhaps they could be sharper? Not5 sure this is possible I 'm only a beginner in this.

This is a wonderful picture. It is wonderful to see the full span of the wings. Nice detail. And then the apple ... adds interest and difference to the picture.

This is absolutely brilliant - spoiled a little bit by the skewed horizon. Sorry, but if it this had been straightened it would have got a 10 from me!
Excellent capture (focus, stop motion), good composition, and great late evening light. 9

How on earth did you get this during the apple challenge? This is amazing. Only nit is that your horizon is tipped. But I don't care. This is still an amazing picture.

Brillantly caught! So the horizon is not level, I hope you do not get marked down too much for that. 9

This is one of the most awesome photographs I have ever seen. The horizon is not level, but there is nothing that would stop me from giving this a 10 and an add to my favorites. If I could I would vote this a 12. Congrats on a great capture and BoL, I hope this wins.
