Greetings from the Critique Club :)

Hi SharQ...

This is an excellent photo... The barren landscape with the tire tracks through the sand create a nice rhythmic flow from left to right in the image. The texture in the sand also adds some nice minor contrast. The clouds in this photo really seem to set it off for me. Compositionally, the only thing that I think could make this image stronger would be to include more of the sky in a larger frame. Maybe a portrait orientation with the same amount of 'land' and two or three times as much sky would create even more impact. The clouds are wonderful here and more of that would be good as well.

Have you experimented with this as a black and white yet? If you do, I would love to see the result of that as well...

Great work :)

BEAUTIFUL!!! The color of the sand is exactly as I remember - and I imagine just as difficult to get out of clothes. The blue sky is a wonderful contrast to the sand.

Beautiful shot! The contrast of the orange sand against the blue sky is wonderful; the thin clouds add a nice touch.

lovely.

If you meant by the title that it is always summer in the Sahara, fine. Otherwise, the picture would fall outside the timeframe allowed for making the picture :) I like the colors: the orange and its complement, blue. Nice motion in the dune and in the wispy clouds. Wish this image had been a bit bigger. 7 Journey

great!!

lovely colors but I'd liked to have a seen a more dune or more sky and perhaps an earlier or later time of day would have enhanced the textures in the sand ?

I really like this picture. colors, composition great. I have a hard time with the tire tracks. I would prefer to see the dunes untouched. 8

Aaaah. Your exposure and composition are excellent. Great use of the wide angled lens and the focus throughout is tack sharp.

Very simple, it completely works! The marks in the sand, make the picture in my mind. They keep it from being too perfect.

Love the colors... nice shot!

The orange sand kind of confuses me. I think of sand being more..well, sandy color. This doesn't look natural to me. Please excuse me if orange sand really exists.
04/14/2003 02:55:12 PM
Stunning shot, fantastic sky, sand....wow great color.
04/14/2003 12:01:11 PM
