Hey Gordon, It's me back to comment again. Only this time for the CC.
This composition is so nice. The perspective from which you shot it works very well to include the foreground. I like that you put the horizon in a good place rather than smack-dab in the middle.
The dof implies equal clarity of view throughout the picture. Even if the bg flowers aren't perfectly in focus, the foreground implies that it all is, and that works very well. Very well done.
The colors are beautiful and you've maintained a very natural palatte here. There is room for just a bit more saturation, without being overdone.
Exposure is fine except the sky looks slightly oe, but is acceptable. I think it would be improved with a bit more darkness. In other words it's a tiny bit too light. I think if it was a touch darker there would be a little more definition in the clouds. I know I'm being picky. I like it as it is too, but we are all here to learn and I like to be honest in my critique, and appreciate the same.
The border looks good. It doesn't compete with the image, but blends naturally.
Overall this is a wonderful, and pretty photograph of a beautiful scene.
Regards,

Grayce

Great perspective and point of view. DOF is great, too. Lovely shot. I wish the sky were as lovely as the flowers.

beautiful landscape.. the blue here is excellent.. i think the only possible improvement here would be some method of darkening up the sky and getting some definition out of those clouds... nice work :) - setzler

the framing adds something to the overall feel, love the composition!

I think I will visualize this photograph any time I am in a "bad spot" in my life. It is so inviting, peaceful, and gives a comforting feeling. I am eager to know where this was taken. It is a beautiful spot, and you are fortunate to have it in your world!

Not the colors most people thought of for this challenge - way to go. Could you have taken it on a less cloudy day or ? I like the shot, but I wish the colors were richer (more saturated?)

Excellent photo, the colors are amazing. Where ever you are spring is with you, I am envious!

this would have given more impact for me if you nestled right down in the midst of those flowers and had a medium DOF, and just catching the top of those trees in the background (blurry) and more focus on a certain group of flowers. Wait...where am I. Oh yeah...just waiting to find this view around here. (C:
I think a little smaller aperture or faster shutter to help blue up the sky some. the greens look a little pale, but then I did not see them. Pretty.

Nicely done. Maybe a little more saturation?

I love this picture; great colors. I would have rated higher but I can't find the spot that is clearly in focus.

The light seems a bit harsh or maybe its a little bright. Its still a nice photo and a good angle.

The border hurts this shot. I do like the photo though.

great!

Lovely work!

When I think color, the first thing that comes to my mind is something saturated, vivid, hot, and so on. Looking at this picture I get a peace and tranquility meaning; and it is still very colorful. Cold colors. Interesting.

Nice. but the border should be in darker color
04/08/2003 12:16:21 PM
Nice shot, but two things bother me a little about it. The blue flowers "flowing" toward the trees in the back are nice, but the sky "pulls" my eye up and out of the picture. It might have been more effective to crop out most of the sky. Also, I know borders are allowed, but I don't think the green of the border compliments the photo at all. Perhaps no border or a very dark green or black would be better. Just my opinion.

Ahhh, how serene and peaceful this looks. Are those bluebells? And are they growing wild in a field or is this a cultivated garden of sorts? Nice portrayal of depth.
04/08/2003 12:40:48 AM
nice picture. I like the purity of the colors
04/07/2003 10:53:17 PM
hyperfocal - nice, maybe a little more saturation to make it a little more dramatic, great shot.

Wish I was here. Lovely

Absolutely beautiful composition.

A postcard shot..........really pretty. Texas? Neat shot....just super.

IIt looks a bit flat. Maybe you should have a taken a lower point of view.

Wow! I wish it looked like that in WI this week :-) Nice Pic.

Beautiful colors. It has good compostion & pretty good cropping. 8.

Lovely shot - I'd be interested to know where this was taken! You've done very well in eradicating nearly all other colours from the shot - could have perhaps brought the blues out a little. The border is well-chosen; normally I'm not a fan of them but this is an exception. A very solid effort. 8.
04/07/2003 04:07:55 AM
Bad choise the green frame, in my humbe opinion. It gives an innatural green cast aspect to the shot.

Texas State Flower! Wooo!
