The title is from a movie.

I was disappointed that the water didn't produce cooler reflections from the city lights. But I think it came out OK, anyway.

I shot this in RAW mode because the last time I did night shots like this (JPEG mode) the white balance was way off. Raw mode allowed me to adjust white balance easily in post processing.

Post processing: adjust white balance, rotate, crop, auto levels, resize, unsharp mask, save for web.

Awesome. I loved it, however, I might have offset the Hancock Bldg to the left a little. The darkness of the water is great, in my opinion. A 9.5 in my book.

I actually like that it DIDN't reflect the city lights - the single blue shimmer is really nice - and not the typical shot. I like the colors in the lights. The whole city has a warmth about it. Nice!!!

Congratulations on your 7th finish. I love how the center reflection brings the eye in and out of the image.

great shot . if i had to pick out something i would change i might have toned down the brightness a bit on the tallest building to give it a more even look...8

Nice silhouette of the skyscrapers against the glow of pollution. Clean processing without distracting artifacts. Well presented.

The detail and sharpness in this picture are just amazing. And the darkness and colors make it one of the most 'late' night pictures in this challenge... I hope you do really well with this. 10.

Great city. Nice shot. I would like to have seen a shot where the Hancock was on the far right of the frame and the cityscape gradually dropped into the black water.

Gorgeous!! One of the best. What city is this? The detail and sharpness is awesome. The simple sky and empty water really let the city drive the image. Top ten!!

Very nice and clear, neat image. Maybe you could have included a little less water a little more sky, but it's just my opinion. Anyway, great shot.9

Well I'm glad I didn't stop and take the image I was going to when in chicago...this is very similar and you would have totally killed mine. Actually now that I look at it I'm wondering if it is in fact Chicago? Good job anyway. I have always wanted to get a nice city scape of chicago and found where I want to shoot it from but don't know how to get there. Can't wait to take note of your settings for when I can finally try this. Good shot and good luck

Love the skyline, think I would have zoomed in a bit if you could of course. There seems to be a lot of water doing not much for the photo. 8

The contrast between light and dark is done very well in this photo. I don't feel like there's too much of either one. Nice clear focus. I might have positioned the picture slightly to the left, keeping in line with the 1/3 rule....but I like the shot really well as is too.
