This is one of my favorite places. I love this tree ... what can I say. I shot this today on my way to work. As I stood in the field taking the shot, an aquaintance drove up and asked me what the hell I was doing out in this field at 6:15 in the morning. I told him it would take way to long to explain ... he just drove away.

Hope this does well

Greetings from the Critique Club...

Hi Coley...

This is a really nice image IMO. I feel the same way you do about some things. I see things daily that inspire me in some way or another and I occasionally make a photo, as you have done here. The one thing you may want to consider here is going black and white. There is very little color in the photo and it doesn't really seem to be enhancing the image, so removing it could make it stronger... excellent work :)

Excellent composition, tree could be a little sharper. 7

Too bad you have to live in that state, move somewhere warmer. Nevertheless I like your picture.

I would love to see a bit more drama in the colour/tones of this, or (alternatively) a black and white conversion - sharpness is great, and it meets the challenge on both levels well. Good job.

Too fuzzy for my taste. I would have cropped out the left side distant trees.

I like the concept and composition. I would love to see a bit more detail in the clouds.

I like the positioning of the tree and the curved landscape. There doesn't seem to be much contrast in the photo. 5

the sky is a tad bland, but the only way you can change that is going a different day. its a good use of the topic at hand. 6

Perfectly suited to this challenge. I wish it was slightly sharper in focus. Otherwise good job.

I like the colors. Just enough of a hint in the clouds. Nice scale to the tree. Enough detail so you can get a scope of everything. I gave it a 7.

I like the idea and the scene. Composition very good. Scene is however very flat. Maybe increase contrast. B&W might work as well.

Very good entry. Congrats. If it was advanced editing I am sure you would have cloned the disstracting elements on the left. 8

I think the picture would be stronger without the background trees on the left.

sky needs work, its good that you placed the tree on the right and not the left.

With a emptier backdrop of the sky and this would be perfect. 9

Perhaps bringing out the color of the sky a little better in post-processing would make this picture more interesting. Meets the challenge well and great concept. =7

if u had made colors more vivid i think this photo would've been better.IMO a deeper blue for the sky wouldve made the tree pop... 6

Interesting, the sky could be better though. Look for an angle to eliminate the far trees on the left and wait for a great sky.

The tree is sharp, which is good, but the sky is bright, hard on the eyes, and lacks color. I recommend strongly boosting contrast to bring out the blue. The curved ground is nice, remniscent of a tree on a very, very, very small planet. :)
