Hey Di - Did you really use a Quantaray 70-300 lens for this shot, or was that an error? I don't see this lens in your equipment list. Was wondering if there was any quality in the Quantaray line - they are priced cheap enough!

Oh, BTW - cool pic! ;^)

I'd like to be able to determine what the spot is, but I like this image none-the-less.

the stripes become the major element while the spot (is that an insect?) is relegated to the realm of minor-ness

I can almost fee the texure thru the photo - well done

The detail in the hair is really nice, I can't pick out what the spot is fly, bug. Maybe just a touch closer to get more of that detail. Overall very nice.

Funny, the stripes almost look like the drawing of a zebra :)

Interesting idea, but the spot is a bit difficult to see.... But then again I don't suggest hopping into it's territory and putting a bigger spot on it

Wow, that's a busy frame. Not really minimal. Is that a tick? In a different challenge this may be more appropriate.

Good capture. Insect too tiny to be very interesting I think.

I like this a lot, but do not quite find it suiting the challenge 'minimalism' but still like it muchly!

A great example of a title really making an image. Well done. 8

I like this image but I think I'm missing the point. Is that a bug? Is the bug the spot? I don't think it is minimalism.

There is a yellowish spot, which could be a bug or something else, which feels out of place. If just the zebra print was in the picture this would be better.

Creative. Nicely lit and good highlights. Very sharp.

Great, great shot of zebra stripes... However, one can barelly see the "damned spot", which is intended to be the main point of the image... That, of course, is a turn off. I feel that, in a different context, I would have scored this image much higher...
Anyway, very nice shot and good job.

Too hard to find the subject of the image. Nothing draws the eye to it, and the bright lines draw the eye away.

misquote:
LADY MACBETH
Out, damned spot! out, I say!--One: two: why,
then, 'tis time to do't.--Hell is murky!--Fie, my
lord, fie! a soldier, and afeard? What need we
fear who knows it, when none can call our power to
account?--Yet who would have thought the old man
to have had so much blood in him.

Nice concept, but I think the "spot" needs to be more the focus. Had to search around for it.

Too bad the sore was not another color. Does not really strike me as a focal point.

Meets challenge description, 4pts the spot was hard to find among the lively background of the stripes.
Meet definition of minimalism..7pts image speaks clearly about zebras
Technical, 3pts need better focas and attention to detail
Artistic, 5pts

Average score, 4pts

"Create an image where your subject is the strong point of the image, but only occupying a very small portion of the image space." I am bothered by this image, as the Zebra is clearly the stronger subject in this image, and clearly is not occupying a very small portion of the image space.
