Yesterday I shot at a community-wide event in our downtown area. This annual event, which includes a walkathon, raises money for an organization that provides substance and alcohol abuse-related education to our local schools. Nearly all of our community turns out for it, and it's a day full of fun, music, and celebration. One of the highlights is live music, provided by local bands, including the high school marching band. During the opening ceremonies, I found myself positioned very near the band. There were several sousaphones in the line, and I noticed how lovely the rest of the crowd across from them were reflected in their shiny bells. The sky, the sunrise, the colors...I thought it was a unique presentation and had to capture it. I hope you enjoy it as I do! :o)

I did process this shot...I desaturated the area surrounding the bell, and boosted the saturation a little inside the bell to realy bring out the blue sky's reflection. Resized and USM applied. :o)

Very creative, for once a great use of selective desat. I wish the bottom od the instrument didnt touch the frame, but that just me being picky! A really super shot, i hope you get in the top 10. Certainly a 10 from me.

cool use of that reflection - nice use of contrast between the framed reflection and the b/w background. One of my favorites of the challenge.

The instrument was very sharp. The blue reflected from the sky and the crowd in there as well made for a great image. 10

the reflections are too busy, I think this would have been better if you tried to capture only one object in the reflection

Hey, great reflection study. I like the cropping with this except the lower bottom seems cropped too close to the edge of the horn. All the best.

Good idea nice tones. I think that a tighter crop from the left would be more interesting.
