It took so long to set this one up, get a satisfactory picture and post it that I didn't have time to write in the details section. The setup was simple. I used a piece of firm sponge rubber material as the base. I bent up and slightly rotated the back portion of the base to help give the picture depth. Wish I had more time to work on it. I think it could have been done better. Thanks for looking.

ALot of effort gone into this, will be rewarded by a good score ! I would however have liked this a little more with more or shall I say less DOF involved! Too much in Focus, the image would be stronger with one part in focal range and teh rest trailing out not in focus...

Wow! Some effort went into setting up this shot - and what a great DOF came with it. So simple yet so effective. Very nice.

Wow! Lots of time and prep probably went into this. Very good.

Nice composition. Would have scored it high if it weren't for the slightly over-tilted blue in the middle blue row, 14th from the top. It attracts the eye too much. And pixels 38-40 in the penultimate yellow are completely blown out. Also, you should have aligned the welds - lazy lazy!

:-)

I like the way you curved the army. Very effective. Nice lighting and sharpness.

Great image, however I think it would be even better with shallow DOF.

Wowee, this must've taken a long time to set up! Very original and good idea. I like all the colors and how they seem to be coming down from a hill. The only criticism might be that some of the light reflections make the shot look a tiny bit grainy - or maybe there is a bit of noise. (I'm no expert though!)

Good lord this must have taken a looooong time. The effect is great though! My only problem is the images in the front ruin your nice pattern. I would've just done a tight crop over the pattern or had the tacks trail off while following the pattern.

Wow. This must have taken hours to set up. Extremely well done. you are very meticulous aren't you? Too bad there are no tacks in this image. ;) 9 for putting so much time and effort into a 24 hour challenge and getting good results.

Nice setup! The colors seem just a little dim, so they might could use a boost in overall image contrast. But still, this is an outstanding image and a really nice concept for this challenge.

A truly sensational interpretation. The curves of colour shout 'Look!'

The best "horde of tacks" in the challenge. High points for patience in setting this up. How long did it take you anyway? The lighting seems alittle bland. Strong entry.

04/16/2005 01:10:44 AM
man, this deserves a 10 just for the time it must have taken.. but why didn't you white balance??? it would have made the colors pop out so much more, and it would have made everything seem a lot crisper.

So...you are either unemployed, retired, or your own boss. A nice set-up all the same, very pleasing to the eye...actually, it is pleasing to both my eyes. Ok, no more commenting while slighty drunk and wholey tired. G'night.
