Taken shortly after sunrise. Well see how many of you figure out that this image is actually upside down and turned 180 degrees. This way has a little more visual impact with the "water" being brighter than the "sky". This is my first week submitting with my new camera.

hey there from the Critique Club ..
from the first time i saw this photo it amazed me ... and at first i didnt think anything of the placement of the reflections ... the composition is great - my eyes are led through the photo to see all there is to see and i love the idea of flipping it over ... i'll definitly have to try that some time ... the light and tones are evenly spread out and the detail in the sihloette (SP?) of the trees is amazing ... I did not get a chance to vote this past week but this much deserves to be in the top 3 spot! great job!

I was wondering how you got the water reflection so clear.
In my opinion this one was the best. I gave it a 10.

This is one of those rare photographs that make me love the photo, but hate the photographer - no offense :) I want to know how you did this please - water is so calm. Almost unsure about whether the photo is upside down or not. Would have given you a 10 if it weren't for the darkness on the right side.

Its a pity your horizon was not in the centre of the shot, it would have aided the feeling of complete symetry

Excellent opportunity shot! I think I'd like to have seen the waterline more central to really emphasise the reflection. Fantasically flat calm water too. Well done! 9 - floyd

This image makes me feel warm and cold at the same time. I love your colors. Not the traditional warm sunset colors. Good choice!

nice clear image, good idea
04/01/2003 10:34:49 AM
Cool reflections, a lake or what? the water is so calm, creating such sharp reflections!
04/01/2003 03:10:11 AM
It is difficult to get a true landscape reflection to be symmetric in an image. This image accomplishes that. The only incongruity is on the far right center of the frame where the reflection is very bright, but the sky above is quite dark. Exceptional image.

how lovely!
nice work!
03/31/2003 05:31:13 PM
Very cool shot. Something "daring" would have been to submit the pic rotated 90 degrees to the left or right. :) Wonder how that would go over with people. Nice job! 8.

This reflection is so good, I think you could submit this upside down, and no one would know the difference. 9.

Wow, one of the better 'water reflection' shots this week - I particularly like the appearance of the coulds in the water. And you managed to pull off shooting into the sun - usually a no-no. Well-taken photo. 8.
