Stunning.
Hardly more I can say. The detail and tones are first-rate!
And now congrats on a top 10 finish!

LOL. Of COURSE he shot seascapes... He lived in Carmel and and was famous for his Big Sur Coast shots.

Nice one zoomer. Delightful not to see the haystacks...

Congrats on another great ocean landscape. This has a lot of similarities to an existing Ansel Adams mountain image that features foreground boulders. I like this one better than "Aperture".

Great comp andexcellent deatials. An evocative shot, well suited to AA's style. The only point I can raise is that some parts of the distant cliff look slightly too dodged in the mid-tones. Lovely sea spray and the birds make a good contextual touch.

A wonderful sense of depth created here.

one of my favs so far. I would have cropped a bit more of the stones off the bottom to pull the eyes more towards the coastline and surf.

What a great shot. The details of the boulders and cliff are fantastic. The mood of the mist/fog makes this especially great. (10)

very nice composition. It reminds me of my favorite A. Adams picture of the rocks. The two birds are a nice little accent aswell.

I love the rocks but think it needs more contrast in the clouds

What a shot! I love the contrasts of light and dark in the foreground boulders, the white sea mist and crashing wave before the dark serrated cliff face, leading our eyes up and beyond to the delicate cyrus clouds. Thanks for an extraordinary photo!

Fantastic image in its own right but the tones in the top half look very 'middle zoney' if that's a correct phrase. I wonder if the big difference between the two halves would appear less if you cropped away sokme more of the foreground rocks?

Like Adam's image, "Mount Williamson, The Sierra Nevada, from Manzanar, California", except better! This should be one of the top finishing images for this challenge.
