This is one of the many abandoned bridges crossing the mighty James River in Richmond, Virginia. I thought it looked super cool.

Post-processing: rotated, cropped, slight adjustments to levels, color balance, brightness/contrast, hue/saturization, and sized for web. And for once, no Neat Image!

Convert this to black and white and it would be even more powerful

A little off-plumb, but terrific angle (and picture)

A nice 'new-and-old' juxtaposition, with the sense of rustiness well captured in the old steelwork.

I like this shot because you took the time to find a bit of the past, soon lost forever.

I like the selective desat. Brings focus to the bridge...

A little confusing at first, but a terrific shot. I like the drama of the old bridge.

This is so cool! I hope you do really well with this. The colors and tones are very striking, and the mixutre of simplicity with complexity is very moving.

I really like the nostalgia of this shot - and it's very nicely composed as well.

Good idea. Composition seems a bit messy, shot lacks a clear focal point. Colors convey abandonment well.

Great composition, lighting and clarity. Love how you can see the newer, bigger bridge through the mangled trees! Well done! I gave it a 9. I would have given it a 10 if the sky was a hue of blue. :)

I love the story this shot tells. It's such a nice contrast with the big modern bridge next to this skeleton. The brush growing around the old bridge (railroad bridge?) really drive home the subject.
