I scored this a 10. Should have finished higher.
Was checking your profile and in viewing several photos
of yourself I have to say the camera really likes you.
Wish I looked so natural in front of the lens.

This image is top ten, the voters have lost their minds.

Nice finish Kat, thought it would be even higher. I was one of your seventeen 10's. Awesome pic! :-)

I knew it was you but I kept it to myself. Why? Who knows, but this is a very nice self portrait. Congrats on the great score.

far a long long way to ruuuuun. Nice image. The jewerly is a bit destracting and i would like to see the framing with a little less headroom. Very nice image none the less.

You're very pretty :).. The picture is very well done. I really like the tones and the choice of black and white is a very good one, I think.

Great portrait. Desaturation was a good choice here, and you could probably crop even more off the top. Librodo is the portrait king, and I've noticed he tends to crop just above the hairline.

A little too dark but I do think the color difference is a plus.

i don't know anything about portraiture, so i'm using your image as a guinnea pig as to what i think i would or wouldn't do in this situation, as well as what i notice and get out of your image.

nice work. composition, expression, focus, all work well. the lighting, though, seems to have washed out some of the tonality in your face, which is a shame.

Very pretty and great framing. The sepia adds to the character and the smile wins the day! Bumping up.

Fa, a long long way to run? With this technically excellent entry, I doubt it. I applaud your choice of employing a selective desaturation to the photo which really complements and enhances an entry for this type of challenge. Well done.

very nice duo conversion. impressive that you managed to get the background black and still leave some highlights in your hair; not an easy task. pretty relaxed pose...nice to see a portrait that hasn't been disturbed by photoshop coming from you. :)

This image would be stunning if you had a small top backlight so that you're separated from your background. You would still have had the black background but you wouldn't have looked quite as 2D.

Nice work. The sensed tonality in the hair - as viewed on my screen at least, if I brighten things too much it's clearer - adds a really involving touch. Good solid light, detail, and sense of honesty.

Beautiful eyes and expression. Great shot. Maybe a tad too dark. The hair kinda blends into the background, but a very nice shot overall.

Hey, this is good! The highest score I've given out so far...9

A smile (especially yours) is refreshing after seeing so many 'angst' and 'dark side' photos! The framing is great and the tones are perfect...great work!

This is a very appealing portrait. Good composition, relaxed & natural pose, and nice lighting. Is it a bit over-sharp? Nah ... the treatment seems just right to me. 7

One of my favorites in the challenge. It's simple but very flattering, nice light, nice catch-lights in the eyes, and you chose a very flattering color-tone for the picture.
