Thanks for that! i did have an earlier shot, but there were too many people on it at the time, so i went for this one. The other one looked a bit lifeless i tink but the bridge did stand out more.

I shall explore the bridge further at the next opportunity, maybe take close ups of the steel cables

thanks again

:: Hello from the Critique Club ::
............................................................

For starters you have a dramatic subject. It's a dynamic structure and your angle shows it off well. It's a shame you couldn't have got ther earlier/later to catch some sun glints on the arch which would help separate it from that distracting background. Alternatively, if you were crazy enough you could have taken a powerful torch and 'light-painted' it with that.

The shot is a tad skewed down to the right too, but it's a subtle flaw.

I can't help thinking that perhaps there's a more impressive angle at closer range looking up, but you would have to forsake the footbridge to get all of the arch and vice-versa.

Hope this helps.

Cheers
Jon

This is a great result for me! Thanks a lot for the comments. Yeah i realised the policemen stood out a lot, but it was because of the labour conference week, security was very high and they were all over the place. So i couldnt have taken the picture without them in it! thanks!

Neat bridge, but background is too busy. Is any angle against trees or open water to make it the star of the picture?

Not bad, but it lacks a certain element of definition that would make it jump out of the page.

The lighting of the sky to the bridge is really good. Very nice.

Must have been taken during the Labour party conference. The yellow coats spoil a nice picture

Needs brightening and removal of blue cast. Good composition.

I Like This a Lot,But it tends to all blend in with the Background,
I would have prefered the Bridge to stand out more.
Well Done.

Nice composition adn the light is decent. I hate to sey it but it looks like a touristy shot because the people in the shot- perhaps its a bit blue too- but you knew all this. I like the sky alot.

This seems too dark to me and would have looked better without the yellow jackets.

A slightly longer shutter would have made everything "pop" a little more in this pic and would ahve bightened it up a touch. nice shot though.

Nice shot and good title.

The people are a little distracting and I'm torn over the lighting. On one hand, I think if it was an hour earlier, the bridge would have had better lighting for the photo, but then again the buildings in the background would show more, thus creating distraction.
