Hilarious. And this ad could really work, so high scores :)
05/12/2002 07:05:00 PM
Now this is creativity!! I love this.

Can't live on Chalopa's alone.

I'm particularly intrigued by the particular (fragments of) news items showing in the background. I'm curious if you were deliberately creating a multi-level message or if I'm just "reading" more into it than I should. Also that you were able to inject an element of humor into what I would have expected to be a tasteless subject (hostages, not tacos).
05/09/2002 09:17:00 PM
this is cute.....made me smile
05/09/2002 09:16:00 PM
Hmmmm. Interesting. Maybe I am missing something (its late here) but I don't get the purpose of the newspaper. Otherwise it is an excellent photograph, with good use of humor.
05/09/2002 03:34:00 PM
great! very funny and it has depth as well as creativity love the newsprint letter I can actually see taco bell using something like this in an ad
05/09/2002 02:23:00 PM
This is a cute ad.
05/09/2002 12:02:00 PM
don't know if this ad is socially acceptable right now, but i absolutely love it
05/09/2002 09:07:00 AM
Very creative and funny.

I was pretty proud of myself for thinking of this as a solution to the 'no added text' problem. You should be, too. Great idea, and, except for a slight blowout in the blindfold, very well photographed. I can't decide whether B/W was the right choice. It does match the message, but I can't help but thinking, since color is the easy way these days, if the kidnappers would have bothered with a conversion.
05/08/2002 10:52:00 PM
Original idea, good for a chuckle. Background is a little simplistic for this shot.
05/08/2002 09:37:00 PM
Cute idea and nice use of black and white.
05/08/2002 05:43:00 PM
Fun photo. Kinda got me hungry... oh, it's dinner time.
05/08/2002 05:21:00 PM
what a great idea-----and very well done to i b/w top 3
05/08/2002 02:06:00 PM
Very funny. I hope this one wins. To bad we can't give out 11's.
05/08/2002 01:30:00 PM
This is obviously a hoax, perpetrated by the dog. I like it. Taco Bell might be able to use that...
05/08/2002 07:52:00 AM
LOL. extremely amusing. i guess iw ould have wanted to newspaper and the message straighter.
05/08/2002 04:29:00 AM
Nice use of B&W.
05/07/2002 09:19:00 PM
Absolutely outstanding creativity!!! This is the toughest photo for me to evaluate. I going back and forth on this one between a 9 and a 10. Probably will not be able to settle on a score untill the very end. Though the shot has good exposure, excellent focus for sharpness and detail, and great composition, I wish the shadow detail on the lower left and upper right sides would have been pulled out with fill lighting. I'm not sure whether the shadow is the effect you were actually after? Excellent effort. I rate this one very high (9 or 10?).
05/07/2002 08:42:00 PM
I would crop it even tighter than this. But the idea is amazing.
05/07/2002 07:26:00 PM
cute idea, but i don't get the connection between the newspaper and the ransom note, oh I get it, it's to prove the date the picture was taken, okay but I still want to see the note arranged more artfully, maybe at an angle in the foreground
05/07/2002 06:06:00 PM
Hilarious...the paper is a very nice touch. Great creativity and imagination. I almost want a "40 mile an hour burrito" just looking at it...almost.
05/07/2002 12:28:00 PM
Very creative. I think this would have been even better if you had spread out the cut-up pages. ¡Yo quiero Taco Bell!
05/07/2002 09:24:00 AM
This one made me giggle. Great photo, and creative use of the headlines!
05/07/2002 08:29:00 AM
At least the Braves won Saturday ... kill the dog ... very cute .... color would have been nice on this, but b&w always works.
05/07/2002 07:36:00 AM
good idea
05/07/2002 07:07:00 AM
How Ingenious!
05/07/2002 06:39:00 AM
well thought out and set up. I think colour would have been better for this tho. The ransom note and dog would have been the only things in colour and really grabbed the viewer's attention. In B+W I find the newspaper too strong and distracting.
05/07/2002 04:01:00 AM
Hehe, very funny and cute, and also a great use of black and white that parodies newspaper photos of real hostages. I love it :)
05/07/2002 12:34:00 AM
This is a great idea. Love the shot.
05/06/2002 11:32:00 PM
This is some funny stuff.

I usually am pretty harsh on funny ads because they often go for the funny over the advertising message but this one is right on. One of my three favorite photos.
05/06/2002 10:50:00 PM
funny. certainly would never be a real ad with all hell breaking loose in the world as it has been, but i like it.
05/06/2002 07:41:00 PM
Nice set up. Why b&w?
05/06/2002 07:39:00 PM
and the product is? If its the newspaper, the dog should be a little more off center. Oh, I get it! It's Taco Bell! Too busy, I really didn't notice the sign at first.
05/06/2002 05:52:00 PM
Excellent creativity! Love it!
05/06/2002 05:29:00 PM
Very original. Nice setup.
05/06/2002 03:11:00 PM
Pretty funny
05/06/2002 02:55:00 PM
Original idea!
05/06/2002 02:22:00 PM
A clear winner in my opinion
05/06/2002 02:17:00 PM
This is cute! I like your interpretation of this challenge. The exposure and everything else looks good too. Moving the dog over a few inches to the right would possibly make a better application of the 'rule of thirds' on this shot... good job!
05/06/2002 01:34:00 PM
cute idea, but the ransom note letters came from a magazine.. I would have preferred seeing a stack of cut up mags and a pair of scissors in the back..
05/06/2002 12:53:00 PM
creative and funny!!
05/06/2002 12:16:00 PM
Simple, clever, cute idea here. Done very well.
Yea that ear got cut some, but I can over look it. Nice job.
05/06/2002 11:43:00 AM
Really cute idea! Any specific menu item? Photo 10 Advert 9 total 10
05/06/2002 10:38:00 AM
I like it!
05/06/2002 09:31:00 AM
A nice bit of humor, but really doesn't want to make me goto Taco Bell. :)
05/06/2002 07:57:00 AM
05/06/2002 07:57:00 AM
Where shall we send the ransom? Nice shot. Unique concept.
05/06/2002 05:51:00 AM
hahahaha ! Well...you told them you are in Atlanta ! LOL CUTE !
05/06/2002 04:22:00 PM
humor i love it
