 It's late, I probably shouldn't submit ...

Post challenge: well, evidently I was rigt to put it up, then :-)

It was actually a miserble day for landscape work, and this was so far off and right at the end of the camera's zoom, and it's only a poor little cheap camera anyway, and the horizon isn't straight (but there's an element of optical illusion that makes that not matter), and it doesn't have much going for it compositionally - so flat and square - and those clouds never really did the spectacular thing I hoped they might, so I just entered it on the strength of the rainbow and the disappearing hils behind. Thankyou to everyone for the kind votes.

I was absolutely certain that I was going to wake up to my third fourth place of the year: though lower wouldn't have surprised me - there just weren't enough comments (presumably because Zoom got them all).

Oh, and you'd struggle to buy a decent lens for your SLRs for the price of this camera ;-)

I love how the rainbow is destinct in the large grey haze. It shows how even in the darkest days, there is beauty showing through. Great job on capturing the green and the blue... and the contrast between all of the elements. You make Fuji look good!!! Congrats on the ribbon!

Man that is awesome, Fugi has got a great line of cameras I am really impressed... Instead of saving up for my dream camera the canon rebel I might just have to go a couple of upgrades higher and stick with fugi...This is really impressive! Congrats on third!

Lived in Harrogate for 5 years before coming to the States, and this shot captures the landscape beautifully and takes me back there. Congratulations, Ed. Nice to be rubbing shoulders with such talent and I look forward to doing it again!

You`re underselling yourself in the write up Ed as this is a beautiful piece of work and well worth the ribbon.

This is a harmonious scene, nicely composed and photographed. For me, it captures not just the look and light of the imminent rain, but also suggests the feel and even the smell of it. Highly evocative is what it is. 7
