I've been looking to achieve this shot for some time now (only ever saw these two face-on) and never really explored it - so I never knew you could get this view! It's superb. |

and me too, i also took a number of shots from exactly the same position one lunch on the way back to the office. in fact, it was almost the same time of day (at about 1.05pm), but three days earlier on the 19th. when i was taking them, i did see another guy in a suit doing the same sort of thing - i assume you didn't try a rehearsal then, did you??
i also tried the stone facade of an old building in front of Lloyds on the other side of the street, but that was naff. my view from here wasn't nearly as sharp as yours (still learning the beast that is the 20D). i guess it was a slightly obvious shot (i have no imagination, and settled for a swiss re shot anyway), but it conveys the theme and technically a total whiz. |

I also took tis shot, for both this and for the architecture challenges - although, to be precise, I probably shot from around two yards in front and a touch to the left of where you stood. I also took a version which included the building to the right of the church - a mid-thirties small office block, though in an ordinary City style, as i thought it added a progression of age that I liked the idea of. I didn't submit those; I think i thought that it'd be done by others, and also I wanted something less obvious (not directly a criticism), and I rather liked the other shot I had by the end of the day. congratulations on your placing and score. Oh, and of course the Wb doesn't need to be sorted. |

What a strange building which is new one..! When you attempted to architecture challenge with its shot, i believe that you may get very high score i think. |

One of several 'Ghurkin' shots I've come across in this challenge but this one is by far my favourite.
You can almost feel the tension between the new and the old as if the new tower is intimidating the old with it's size and technical superiority. |

White balance needs to be corrected. Other than that, I like it. |

Like how you integrated the buildings into one...this must be a known landmark, looking forward to seeing where... |

Honestly, the first thing I noticed when the picture opened was the bright border. I guess that means it's a distraction from an otherwise nice image. |

Beautiful capture and definitely fitting of this challenge. My only quirk that I have with "sky" shots is the darn condensation trail from an airplane. Good luck |

I really like how the buildings at the bottom are completely contained within the larger building in the back. |
