Well this was a bit lower than expected. Ho hum. Can't see how it's not a top ten - I guess it isn't that bright or shiny :).

Doesn't meet the challenge: zero.

Rubbish. Of course it does and this is really nice. It's a bit overpowering on the floor but I find the image appealing.

Stark, emotive, high impact black and white. The high contrast works well to emphasise both the spotlight and the inky blackness surrounding it. I like the use of lots of negative space to emphasise the loneliness of that position. The soft detail of brick behind the chair definitely adds something. Lovely! 10

Very very good. I Absolutely love the lighting and shadows. The sharpness and contrast are perfect.

Stark spotlight, single chair. And every 30s film noir cop movie cliche in the book. Love the contrast between the dusty floor and the chair. Dark and moody. I keep expecting Jimmy Cagney to walk in. 9

Nice composition. There is a lot of empty space, which I'm sure some have complained about, but I really like it and feel it helps strengthen the result. Good shot.

This is really cool. Simple and it works. I cant help but to wonder what this shot would look like with someone in the chair looking up at the light or with their head in their hands. Works for me though..I would so hang this on my wall....10

Sublime ! the simplicity of the mundane subject, the large black negative space,, the spotty lighting from above, this is a wonderful minimalist photography. And more important, looking at gives me a stange and nostalgic emotion .
(well I like minimalism and do not dislike Art , so... :) 10

At a guess I'm going to say zeusen. If that's not you then take the mistaken identity as a compliment. This image epitomises the power of simplicity, and the wondrous effects that can be gained from a little skill in the lighting department. a ten from me and one of the best images in this challenge.

Great mood, but the empty space could have been positioned with more impact I think (e.g. above the chair in a vertical frame)

I like it how the stair stands out from the darkness byt the single lightsource. But overall the photo is too empty for me to give it a 10. Perhaps a bit closer in a square crop might work as well. 8
