I know that I am late with this comment on this beautiful photograph, but at the time of your submittal I had never heard of DPChallenge. I just wanted you to know that out of ALL the photographs I saw at this site (in the challenge history) your photograph SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE BLUE RIBBON WINNER. I am surprised that you did not put prints of it up for sale!

Lynn

A lovely example of bokeh. Enough clarity in the background for the detail to engage the viewer, while still making the midground subjects leap off the image.

I think the only thing I would ask is a little more space between the third bird and the edge of the image: rather than being part of the triad, he seems left behind, as the edge pulls at him.

Beautiful work.

i guess people may complain that the bkg is not bokeh enough ... it is a fantastic picture though

Very cool... The geese look almost three dimensional. Nice and crisp.

beautiful image, and overall, a stunning capture. the background, though, is a bit too in focus. this is a place where you really could have taken advantage of the advanced editing rules: by selecting for the background and creating a layer from that, you could have applied a gaussian blur that would have easily put this on the front page! you still might consider doing that; it would make one killer print! good luck!

Great shot, love everything about it. However in this challenge, a bit off topic in my personal opinion since the backround is too busy for my taste and doesn´t really add to the photo. In short, if this was a "wildlife" challenge I would have given it a 9 but in this challenge I gave it a 8. Hope you do well.

Stunning capture. I love the snow covered trees in the backround. The Geese are so sharp, it makes the picture seem 3D. Definitely one of my favorites. Should win a ribbon!

Nice catch of the trio - visually stunning in capturing wings down, level, and up. Background bokeh in my opinion is sufficiently enhancing of the birds in adding an interesting backdrop while effectively isolating the geese in flight. 8

great shot! one problem (which I don't know how to fix) is that the geese feel a little bit unreal against the background, as if they were pasted from another photo.

Gorgeous! I love how the birds are all in focus against that great background. It's a really serene photo that will make a lovely print, if you decide to make it one :)

I think this would have been even better if you got rid of the people and the bench in the background or even cropped them out. NIce photo otherwise.

this looks almost unreal, what a great capture, the birds look like they are flying past a poster or freeze

wonderful image, I like the bokeh people in the lower left, and 3 different stages of flight strokes for the geese. Rare shot indeed, 10
