Very colorful! I like the candid expression too. I also like that you inluded a good amount of that interesting wall to the right. Nice job.

National Geographic material if I ever saw it. Very nice. Bumping from 9 to 10.

Stunning colors; you and your model captured emotion and the moment... one of my ribbon picks a 10, going in my favorites, too

Returning for comments...

The warm tones here are great and so is the candid feeling of the shot. Slightly overexposed, but a great shot nonetheless. 9.

I kept wondering: This is a great portrait, but why did I give it an 8? I had a look at it several times and I think it is because of the balance between the person and the reed wall. For my feeling there is a bit too much wall, it brings the impact of the photo out of balance.
Had a go at it in Photoshop and cropped this version from the left with a constrained aspect ratio of 5:4. Less wall, more emphasize on the face. IMHO the 5:4 crop works better.

Perfectly taken, and the fact that the subject isn't posing and looking into the camera makes it even better.

Great portrait. Golden cast to the lighting works really well, if this is librodo I don't quite agree that this is your best shot for the year (though who am I to judge - I think you know your own work better than anyone else) - if this is anyone else - take the fact that I thought this might be one of librodo's images as a compliment :). Whatever the case this is still a 9.

Edit: had another look at this - and after staring into those incredibly deep eyes, I can't help but bump this to a ten - maybe it was the right choice :P!

Great candid... exposure's a bit hot, and contrast is a bit high... you could really apply leverage to the emotions going on here through more sensitive cropping and composition. 7.5

There are very few portraits in this challenge that I voted high. This is the one exception.

Nice colorful shot. Skin tone seems a little too yellow here. Nice catchlights in the eyes and comp.
