 Wow! Tough to get eggs in focus! I must have shot this a hundred times. I did find a cool, old flag though. I suppose it should be retired, but I got it from our theatre department's prop storage area. It was also difficult to get some shadow and depth on the eggs while not casting too much of a shadow on the blue background. A lot of fine lines to negotiate?took the whole day to shoot, but I had most everything right, so it only took about a minute in Photoshop. Fun, and I learned a lot!

Thanks for this comment. I certainly am not unpatriotic at all, and I do live in the USA. This photo turned out pretty much as I had planned, dirty old flag and all!

Despite what most have already said. I truly think this is a great shot, and Love the symbolism. This shot can be pointing out any number of issues we have, or had with our country. That is what makes it a really great shot.

I like this. A combination of good symbolism and well-executed photography. It's kind of disturbing that people rated it down because of their "patriotism". Hope you don't have an address in your profile.

nice photo...i like the cropping and the idea behind it. i would like to see the eggs brought into focus a little more and i think it needs a border to hold it together a little tighter...i gave it a nine because i like the originality and the colors (i\'m a huge patriot!)

I have to ask whether this is commenting on just the eggs, and you wanted to put this on a cool background, or whether you think the state of America is fragile? Just curious, because this can be construed in two ways. nice pic though... your getting a 9 from me :-)

Technically lovely, but this overt Americana really annoys me I'm afraid, so I'm marking it down. Or is this a very subtle comment on Hawaii and tourism ... in which case it's too subtle for me.

Very creative. Makes a statement too! Good focus. Would be even better if the white stripes showed up "whiter" compared to the eggs, without having to use a new flag - an old flag is better. 8
