Meh, why not =)
Considered this idea for the Mechanical challenge, which I didn't end up entering.

Lighting: 2 lights setup on either end of bike
Exposure: 2 seconds, with prolonged pauses at beginning and end to make sure that the feet were in focus.
Selective desat applied to better isolate the feet and legs.

This is so cool! I think that you deserve 1st place! I do! I think that is so cool, it looks like a picture of some special effects in a movie! Keep that roll going!

Well executed. I don't like selective desat under many conditions, but this is one that really works. well done. nice bike too. :)

Couldn't be happier right now :D
Thanks so much everyone for your very generous votes and comments.
Never expected this at all, as I was really unsure about even submitting it. I really thought I'd be lucky to break 6 with this, and there were so many other shots that I feel were ribbon-worthier than mine.

CONGRATULATIONS...a winner for me. You sure did know the technicalities. Hoping you of more ribbon to come. I can see a lot coming your way this 2005. I can just feel it. You have the creativity and youthfulness to try them out.

Wow. This is by far the best of the get in shape photos. You done a great job with the colors and composition as well as depicting the motion of pedaling. I predict a ribbon for this one. 10

Really nice execution here - love the contrast between the true-colour legs and the blue cast bicycle. My only qualm is that the shoes don't look particularly athletic :)... but we can't exactly expect you to go out and buy a new pair now can we. 8.

Like the contrast of the blue bike and background with the pink legs and red and tan shoes. Also the sharp focus really works well with the motion. Excellent.

Very nice coloring, good use of blur without overdoing it. I like it. Nicely done, and very polished looking.

good idea - i would've perhaps liked the legs to have been in a full motion blur, since the more solid bottom positions and the slightly apparent top position just tend to point out that you stopped pedaling for a little while at the bottom (otherwise they wouldn't be this solidly rendered.. unless you used a flash, i suppose). anyway, good idea and good luck on your resolution!

Cool use of motion blur, executed properly and to good effect. Selective desat and toning done aesthetically. It appears you put a lot of thoughtful effort into this and it shows. Well done.

Very nice. Like the motion effect. Great contrasting color of blues and browns. The centered composition works well. Good luck and HNY.

did u have the flash fire twice during the exposure? if you did i would say just rear curtain sync would be the way to go. That top foot although not as 'frozen' as the others makes this image a bit confusing. besides that though everything looks good, i cant vote, but if i could it give it a 7.

nice montage effect. I wish the skin/shoe tones were a little warmer...
