Critique Club Critique:

Composition: The composition is simple but effective for this shot. You utilized the rule of thirds but I think maybe either positioning it a little to the right or maybe cropping a little tighter on the right would have removed the only part of the photo that is not part of the flower (the bottom right part). Leading lines usually means lines that lead you to the subject. I see the lines of the petals leading me to the yellow center but when I look at this I see the flower as a whole as the subject.

Technical: This picture looks a tad underexposed. The whites are not white enough. They look too shaded. The focus is good and the colors mix well together.

Overall: With a little cropping and maybe a little more light would have made this good photo into a really good shot.

Nice macro. I like the DOF on the middle area and the lines starting to fuzz out as the get closer. If somehow to have them a bit sharper on the perimeter. Oh yeah...spot edit! (C:

this is a beautiful shot .. the leading lines arent as distinct - but this is a great photo ... kinda similar concept to how i did my photo :)

So the inside of the flower is the subject or is the flower the subject. I guess it could be leading lines but It doesn't do anything for me. The focus seems a bit off. Good luck.

Those little white spots on the lower petal are a bit distracting, but otherwise a nice shot. And the leading lines are there so you met the challenge too.

I'd be willing to bet that you will get some "anti-flower" comments, but I actually like it, and think that it fits the challenge. The close up and crop are very effective, and the colors are gorgeous. The "bleeding" edges of the purple are perfect at accentuating the lines of the flower, and leading the eye around the photo.

nice macro shot... i think this one may struggle a bit for the leading line concept, but the white lines do converge on the yellow center :) - setzler
