I started with a photograph of a dusty, faded fake flower arrangement that has sat in our home's entryway for years, wanting to transform it into a vibrant piece of art I’d actually be proud to display.
To achieve the final look, I processed the image through a custom Photoshop ExtendScript, I developed. The script systematically cuts the frame into a modular grid of tiles. For each tile, it samples the local average color directly from the source image, blends that color wash back over the square at 50% opacity to heighten chromatic contrast, and applies an oil paint brush-stroke filter before assembling the patchwork back together. The resulting texture and color shifts breathe bold, abstract life into an otherwise neglected household object.
