Well deserved blue. Amazing capture. Personally, I think that cropping it to a portrait would lose the greatness of this picture. It's like a gigantic umbrella covering the ocean. The horizontal split gives the stormy sky dominant weight.

I normally assume that lightning shots are longer exposures because of how hard it is to predict the strike, but the water shows that this was a short exposure. Not sure how you pulled this off, but you should be proud of the result, its an excellent photo. |

Although we could discuss what the subject is as the eyes are instantly drawn to the lightning - this is "different" and I really like it... you got 8 from me but probably would have been 9 if the beach was cut out :)

Amazing moment. But the image contains alot of uninteresting space on left and right sides. I would have cropped it to a portrait orientation. |
