Post-Challenge Update

Thanks for the wonderful comments! I'd like to say this image was shot with intention but it was actually more of a "in the right place at the right time" capture.

I went to a nearby wooded stream knowing there would be some moss covered rocks in the area. I settled in on one rock about the size of a grapefruit to see what details I could get. After a couple of images I noticed this tiny white spider moving around so I shifted around to see if I could get a decent image of it.

Anyone walking by would have thought I was half crazy (well, maybe I am - LOL) ... I was sitting on the wet bank of this stream with both feet in the water, totally focused on this ordinary mossy rock. In the end, it was worth the wet and muddy clothes. :-D

this is gorgeous Barry ..
i'm wondering if this spider is so young that its colouring hadnt come in yet ..
i've seen that on bed bugs for instance .. that they are almost transparent until they start sucking blood .. i wont go into how i know about that .. it might gross ppl out .. but to be fair it was many years ago that i did the experiment .. !! ..

i loved reading your story about how you got this shot .. i've got muddy knees before but i've never go above and beyond .. and submerged my feet/shoes in water .. actually that's not above and beyond .. but below and beyond .. lol .. πŸ˜‚

anyhoooo .. many many congrats on your ribbon ...
and coming second place on your profile page .. that's quite an achievement these days .. πŸ™‚

Congratulations, on first glance I thought this might not be real, on second glance I knew it was. After studying the spider I knew I was seeing amazing photography.

So delicate and mesmerizing. This is the first time I’ve ever seen one like this, even in a photograph. It reminds me of The Mist series/movie in the best way..mysterious, haunting, and beautiful. Such a fascinating capture. Congratulations, glad2badad! 🫢🏻

I see a studied hand at work here. This feels like the cover of a children's science book.

Insane capture- and feels technically perfect while still having mystery, which is hard to do. Top3
