 A walk on Agate Beach on an early morning with Yaquina Head Lighthouse as a backdrop.

My wife and I were up early and decided to take a long walk on the beach on our visit to the Oregon Coast. We have been traveling all of the country for the past few years as a part of my wife's journey to run a marathon in each of the states (each under 4 hrs). Oregon was state 49.

As we walked south away from the bluffs and down towards Newport, we could see the lighthouse appear as beacon rising from the fog and mist.

The little shore birds, sandpipers and plovers and willets, were busy and one happened to find a perfect spot to help me compose my image.

So stunning and soft, the pastel colors flow so beautifully though out the image and the lighthouse in the mist is the cherry on top.
