I took this photo 10 miles south of San Marcos, Texas. It's a great view from the bee on the bottom Indian Blanket to the Big Blue Sky above!

not really from the ground up is

This seems more head-on than ground up. The iamge seems little over-sharpened as well.
05/03/2002 06:21:00 AM
Makes me feel like I'm looking down not up.

I love the colors in this shot, what are those flowers called? I wish this shot was compressed better, the digital jagginess of it really pulls away from the overall image.

Connection to the theme is not to great but I do love the splendor of Texas wild flowers. The color is wonderful.

Looking up a hill? I like the shot, but the resolution looks a bit short. Are you using all of your megapixels?
05/01/2002 12:59:00 PM
There was potential for this shot, the flowers and the sky look really nice but...

You could of used a lower angle on the ground with this shot and gotten more of the sky in the frame. The shot is 3/4 ground and hardly any "up".

The software that you used to resize the photo terribly distorted the image, go to the forums and look at what software others are using. It also appears that there is a quite a bit of JPG compressions on this photo, another software issue.

One of the better shots in this challenge and actually I had a whole series of shots that looked almost identical to this :-) I used a different subject matter entirely instead but I still like this composition. Good work

This photo almost looks like a painting. The flowers look like they are dancing in celebration of spring. I typically would be critical of the lack of sharp focus on the subject, however in this case the soft focus seems to work for me. There seem to be quite a few artifacts in the image. I'm not sure whether they are due to post processing or jpeg compression? Having said all of that, I still like the photo overall and rated it high.

kind of fuzzy
04/30/2002 04:06:00 PM
Lots of compression artifacts. Hard to do within the size allowed.

Wonderful composition and color. The only thing I found wrong, is that it seems to have been "sharpened" to the point of beginning to "break up" the image. Can you see it?
04/30/2002 01:10:00 PM
Oh how I miss the Texas wildflowers! It looks like your image is over sharpened though.

pretty flowerscape -- seems like a really high degree of pixelation though. I bet you're getting a lot of those comments -- low end camera?
04/30/2002 11:13:00 AM
The photo looks like it has been compressed a little too much? Edges are jagged and focal point can't be pinpointed. I think it is a nice photo, just try processing it again.
04/30/2002 09:51:00 AM
Pretty
04/29/2002 10:01:00 PM
Ah! Wish I were back in Texas!
04/29/2002 09:01:00 PM
Looks like a pretty picture but the compression almost ruins it.
04/29/2002 06:47:00 PM
hmm... not bad, but then again not that great either. The image is a bit to umm... pixely? Nice shot of the flowers though.
04/29/2002 05:23:00 PM
may not be the best example of from the ground up, but still a nice picture
04/29/2002 03:53:00 PM
Clarity not good......
04/29/2002 02:44:00 PM
You have a great photo, except you have some extreme pixelization going on ... I am not sure why, but once the challenge voting is over, I'll help you any way I can.

very nice. i like this a lot
04/29/2002 12:47:00 PM
Lots of compression artifacts here, but the colors are nice
04/29/2002 12:05:00 PM
Nice bright and clear.
04/29/2002 10:58:00 AM
nice color
04/29/2002 10:55:00 AM
Most things about this photo are great... the only thing is that it seems flat and uniform. If it had been cropped so that it was a vertical rectangle, with more sky, and a tighter focus on a few flowers, it would be more interesting to look at, maybe.
04/29/2002 09:04:00 AM
good texan shot - have to score that highly :) Picture seems to have suffered in the conversion to JPEG.
04/29/2002 08:14:00 AM
Odd texture. Is it artifacting? I like how the flowers extend all the way out into the background. It's too bad that the sky wasn't a deeper blue, I think it might have been a better contrast to the red and yellow flowers. If your camera supports it, a polarizer might have helped.
04/29/2002 04:34:00 AM
The flowers are nice... I can't put my finger on it but there is something wrong with this photo. It looks very grainy. There is no sharpness...
04/29/2002 03:35:00 AM
I like the idea and colours. Dunno if you've over-sharpened or lost quality on compression, but this seems very jagged.
04/29/2002 01:40:00 AM
Cool shot! Bring the brightness down o this and it'd make a good check picture.
