 We were just arriving at the beach, they were leaving. We passed them on the boardwalk between the beach and the parking lot (Plum Island, Massachusetts). We smiled and exchanged pleasantries as we passed, I turned around for a couple of shots and the child turned back to look at me . . . or the beach . . . for this one.

The walk wasn't long, but plenty long enough for those little legs; Grandma was very patient.

And yes, the outfit! It charmed me as we approached them and was certainly what got me to turn around for a shot from the back.
