Very soft, and almost dreamy. Nice effect.
05/05/2002 04:33:00 PM
Nice image, held the exposure very well for a very direct into the sun shot.
05/05/2002 08:59:00 AM
The haze of sunlight adds an ethereal air to the shot, saving it from being just a cliche :o)
05/05/2002 06:44:00 AM
very relaxing. I like it a lot.
05/05/2002 01:54:00 AM
a bit bright. A little overexposed for my taste.
05/04/2002 10:16:00 AM
A slightly amazing glow for a digital camera. The green still stands out which is nice.
05/04/2002 06:52:00 AM
Interesting light pattern, good job of exposure with the leaves being back lit.
05/03/2002 08:33:00 PM
Awesome textures
05/02/2002 07:47:00 PM
Nice effect with the softening of the image. Good layout too.

I like the composition of the photo, but the sun shining through the leafs make it difficult to look at.
This probably could have been prevented if the the picture would have been taken on another time of the day or on a less sunnier day.
05/02/2002 12:59:00 AM
the light is dope
05/01/2002 12:19:00 PM
for this to represent my interpretation of "from the ground up" there would need to be a lot more tree trunk showing, unless you weren't standing and zoomed in from the ground instead?
05/01/2002 09:09:00 AM
This really shouldn't appeal to me - burnt patches of sky, loss in detail on the leaves, blue spill, etc., but it does somehow. I think it's the way you caught the light. I'd crop it from the left to make a vertical composition and avoid some of the distracting elements there.

I really like this tree--very majestic. Nice how the sun is shining through the branches. Maybe because of this the color seems a little off--kind of muted, which distracts from the overall.

Photo definitely fulfills the challenge, but not much subject to hold my interest, and the sky is too white and overpowering where it shines through.
04/30/2002 09:29:00 AM
I really like the fuzzy light through the tree.
04/29/2002 09:42:00 PM
Highlights are way too blown-out.
04/29/2002 05:51:00 PM
Surreal. Neat.
04/29/2002 05:27:00 PM
this looks very mystical, i am uncontrolably gravitating towards the alien glow
04/29/2002 04:17:00 PM
I really enjoy the light in this picture...gives it a surreal, dreamlike quality that transcends the usual tree pic. Well done!
04/29/2002 04:13:00 PM
This really works for me. You've captured the Challenge well and I like the hazy lighting, adds interest to the shot.
04/29/2002 03:49:00 PM
Nice, almost abstract composition.
04/29/2002 02:10:00 PM
The sunlight shining through the tree gives this photo a really nice dream like quality.
04/29/2002 01:33:00 PM
Where are my sunglasses? ;) Nice shot...
04/29/2002 12:56:00 PM
I like the effect of the light filtering through the leaves
04/29/2002 11:32:00 AM
I really like this. I don't doubt if you get a difference of opinion on my next comment. I don't like the glow of the light coming through.
04/29/2002 11:06:00 AM
I like the light in this. It has a nice glow to it.
04/29/2002 09:59:00 AM
The layering of the leaves with light behind them is very pretty. I don't think the picture is framed in an interesting way though. Perhaps the trunk could be more dominant and central? Framing and cropping this photo different ways to experiment could lead to something with more to interest the eye, eg. more bark texture, interesting shapes, etc.
04/29/2002 09:43:00 AM
Nicely exposed, though I guess some would cry "lens flare!"
04/29/2002 08:40:00 AM
Sunlight seems to have been overexposed. Maybe underexposing it would have darkened up the greens and made it more striking ?
04/29/2002 08:05:00 AM
Nice take on the challenge.
04/29/2002 03:22:00 AM
The sky is over exposed, it takes a lot away from your picture.
04/29/2002 12:23:00 AM
I like the lighting effects of this
