 last minute entry ..
which is usually never a good thing for me with the voters ..

but thought what the heck .. really fast edit of butterfly .. and rain drops i'd taken when it was raining and i was photographing the noisy miners in the grasses ..

hope ppl will notice how the butterfly's proboscis is actually in the tiny little flower .. its actually coming out the other end .. but not that obvious from a quick glance ..

the proboscis going into the flower and coming out the other end blew me away when i saw the pics on the computer .. how clever are butterflies .. !! .. :)

after rollover .
i had misnamed this butterfly in my title calling it a Painted Lady Butterfly .. i had researched it but got it wrong .. they are very similar to the monarchs .. but when you know the differences its obvious ..

after i got your comment i wrote in to the site council and asked them to change the title .. they very kindly did .. it would have felt like leading ppl astray to have left it misnamed ..

Wow, he actually sucked a little flower off the plant! What a great image! I would have maybe dulled down some parts of the flower a bit.
