The writing was already in the sand. I didn't even notice it on the small drone-controller screen. I was flying from a quarter-mile away. I cackled with pleasure when I viewed the image on the computer :-)

It has just been pointed out to me by Penelope that she is the orange dot at the railing near the peace sign :-) Didn't realize that either. She has an orange camera backpack.

No, no :-) A couple hundred feet up in the air, but a quarter-mile away as the crow flies, so to speak. I was in a parking lot at the edge of the beach well to the North of the bridge.

Wow! This is about as spectacular as it gets! Winning a blue ribbon is always awesome and something to be proud of. But winning top honors in THIS challenge with some of the most amazing collection of photos I̢۪ve seen anywhere is something to truly bask in! Congratulations!!!!

Wow, I pulled a rare mid-7 and this still bested me by a fair amount! Regarding your note about the writing in the sand: I recall a similar experience with a landscape entry a few years ago. I didn't notice the bird in the tree or the shaft of light illuminating the bird until I was editing it later on. Turned out to be a favorite of my family.

More than the novel view from above, what elevates (pardon) the image is the assured composition and the appreciation of the terrain. The car and the writing in the sand surely help.
