 This is one of the famous "moving rocks" of the Racetrack Playa in the Death Valley (a.k.a. sliding or sailing stones). The accepted theory is that they are moved by strong winds in winter when rains liquify the top layer of dirt which then freezes at night and turns the Playa in a skating rink. And then brutal summer heat dries the surface and cracks it up.

P.S. I was so darn close to finally reaching my new PB after more than 10 years ;). The score was actually 8.0 until just a couple of hours before rollover! But the last couple of votes brought it down quite a bit... oh well. Still an awesome score, thank you all!

I did my best for you... I gave you the 10 it deserves!

As an aside... I once had an eight all week long. I was so surprised by it, that I kept thinking it was a six and I must be looking at it wrong. Ha!

It still was over an 8 at rollover, but... rollover didn't happen until twenty minutes late and by then it was a 7.9892. Still a GREAT score, but I was so disappointed that rollover was late and I missed a goal.
