Up at my favorite photo place -- Chincoteague. I was just there for the birds, not the people.
Went out at sunrise for wildlife. Drove out to the beach, decided I was too lazy and didn't go look for shore birds, but I did peak over the sand dunes and saw this.
Pretty much straight out of the camera with no processing (cloned out a partial person on the far left.) But the colors, dynamic range, etc., were pretty much out of camera. I really like this shot. :)
People are so glad to be getting out again, but it was nice to see that the beach wasn't crazy crowded. I wonder if life will ever get back to normal. I find it heartening when people follow the guidelines. I hope people appreciate the fact that they're being kind and pretty much selfless when doing this. Even though the masks are giving you a small amount of protection, it's doing more to protect others. That's the type of world I'd like to believe we live in. One where we care about people and do all we can to help.
Yet it's a rather lonely existence. I wish we could have been in this together. There could have been such a sense of camaraderie and hope in this all.
I assume all the plastic shields will stay around for good. Unfortunately, it will only be a reminder to a sad, divisive time.
